Oil & Fuel Low hanging fuel tank

I'm thinking of purchasing a hst 5510 but I'm concerned about the low hanging fuel tank. I was wondering if there were any horror stories of someone damaging the fuel tank or ripping one off.

Glad I bought my 2012 Kioti DK40 before they started putting those low hanging fuel tanks on tractors.One would think mud/snow would collect on the tank in short order.

Glad I bought my 2012 Kioti DK40 before they started putting those low hanging fuel tanks on tractors.One would think mud/snow would collect on the tank in short order.

One of the things that pushed me into purchase of my tractor in 2012 was to avoid all the changes that had to occur in tractors to meet Tier IV. While these new tractors seem to work fine and their owners like them, there are aspects of the needed design changes that I am glad I avoided. The fuel tanks have to be hung outboard now so that there is room under the hood for the Tier IV equipment.

I am sure someone can and probably will tear a tank off but I have not so far and I have been in some places that I should not have been in
A skid plate should be an option from the factory and until they do I would do like some of us here had done and fabricate one sooner than later upon purchase of a Kioti. After that putting expanded metal on the provided front brush guard will save you from having to replace the plastic grill.
All things considered the Tier 4 NX has been a good machine for us
