I went ahead and went with a used X590 with less than 100 hours on it, 54" deck, LDAP tires, etc. Practically brand new. When I went to look at and drive it the other day, it almost seemed like it was never used before and kept in very good condition. The the tractor still has 2 years warranty on it.

I got the mower for $5000. I'll post pics as soon as I get it back home from VA this week. I am pretty darn excited. I believe this is the machine for me, and will do the job and handle my terrain. Cant wait to get accessories for it too.

Thanks all for the input and information. I'll be checking back in shortly!

Congrats. I think you will like it a lot. You're going to find that it's a much beefier machine and will feel different, better than the lightweight box store models. About 1/3 off the price of new for what is basically new is too tempting to pass up.

Congrats on new to you X590. I think you’ll find it’s a tremendous upgrade over the L130 or anything Husqvarna makes. I have basically same tractor

Thanks all - really appreciate it. Going to put up some pics soon.

Does anyone know if the owner will need to transfer the warranty to me, is there a process or steps him or I will have to take for that? I know sometimes warranties can be funny like that. Anyone ever dealt with transferring warranties before, or will he need to?

Thanks!

If owner has bill of sale- definitely get copy of that. A lot of talk about Husqvarna by a few people on this forum- I should add warranty is NOT transferable with Husky- of course their warranty period is fairly short – no way they would warranty those units 4 years 400 hours. Anyway getting back to John Deere if previous owner doesn’t have a copy of original sales bill, call the dealer tractor was bought from and ask them how to proceed

Thanks Smoothas. Owner said he will give me the original invoice + service invoices. Also called the dealership he bought it from and they said they go by the VIN # / Tractor and not owner to owner. So in other words the warranty travels with the new owner, etc. So I think I am ok : )

I got my x500 from a dealer who sold it new to a customer along with a Gator. They moved across country and agreed to sell it on consignment. The dealer was asking $4500 for it, I offered $4k. When I came to look at it I told them I had two others I was looking at in about the same shape, hours, and price (give or take). I told them if price was equal I would pick the one I liked the best and buy it. They texted the owner and told them what I offered. As we were leaving the wife wanted to take a picture of me sitting on it with snow falling (for facebook). Before we got back to our SUV the salesman came out and said they would take $4k so I bought it. Another dealer that I called said they had a customer who bought a new one each year. Late winter every year he would trade it in. Who knows if it's the truth but I'm not sure if I would buy new. Compact tractors hold their value while premium mowers like these take a much bigger hit. I saved 1/3 off the price of a new tractor, sounds like you could be saving thousands, why not save some money.

For quite a few years I would trade my X7XX or equivalent previous series tractor in every year. Many times they would have 50-60 hours on them and in perfect shape. It was just because I was able to get certain incentives that made that work. I stopped about 5 years ago because it got to be a pain in the rear because I started filling tires and putting weights and 3pt hitches on.

As long as there is a warranty on yet I wouldn't worry about it.

Congrats on the new machine! I think you made the best choice going with an X5 series machine, yes an X7 series would have been better but the attachments for that series get pretty spendy fast for the average home owner with a small property.

3pt hitch attachments for the x7 series are simply any CAT1 implement. That makes them about as cheap as you can find, with many used implements available all the time. I have several. None were expensive. All are easy to move around. However, the x7 does not have the ground clearance from some CAT1 ones, but you don't need to go to cat0 stuff. I love the X7 3pt configuration. Perfect for yard work.

Yep most non pto driven 3pth stuff isn't all that spendy,,, I was talking snow blowers and blades. New against new the X7 stuff is twice the price of the X5 stuff and if your blowing 100' of drive way that 1.5 - 2k upcharge might be a bit more coin than the average guy wants to spend for the task. Heck I don't like to spend much at all for snow equip, some years the most work the blower does is be mounted to the tractor waiting for a storm deep enough to justify breaking it out, plow duty round here was passed off to an atv years ago.
