I had 28 chickens free ranging 24-7, for the last month I had them a big red fox was chasing my chickens every morning, my cattle were chasing the fox lmao.
The fox took down 3 chickens in that time, which is surprising due to how incredibly stupid chickens are lol
I ended up gathering up all the chickens, collected 21 hens and 2 roosters and sold them all for $2 a pop.
Later, about 3 days later 2 hens show up in the barn, apparently they like to roost in the neighbors yard up a pine tree lol. There still back there to this day, 3 weeks after I sold the others, that's the only time I have seen a fox at my place and haven't seen it since.
I certainly have no interest in killing the fox, each animal is important for the ecosystem, possum and coons included, sometimes there numbers need to be adjusted but overall there needed.
I have a bunch of grey squirrels, 3-4 albino white squirrels, there's so many squirrels that you can watch them at almost any time of the day, the neighbors like to feed the albino ones, they think there neat and are kinda known around here.
I have a skunk or two in the area, I have walked in my coop at night getting eggs and see it waddling out the door, that happened about 6 times in 2 years, my dog got sprayed last month lmao. Skunks are good at eating bugs and different insects.
I have 1-2 feral cats living back by the barns, I feed them now and again, they keep the mice down.
Wild life of all kinds are welcome, if they over step there welcome with over populate, that will be dealt with, I make sure I have a well balanced ecosystem, all the way down to feeding the local vultures

, they clean up and dead animals in 1-2 days max, nothing lasts long enough to rot around here, that's really nice.
An animal with rabies is another story, that's a no brainer.
