'14 Tundra double cab 4x4, 18.5 around town, 23 open road. So far my towing has been really short in town so I have no idea what I get there.

That is exceptional. Most Tundra owners seem to complain about poor gas mileage.

Time to trade this POS off. Electric steering bad at 65K miles, several brake jobs, evap coil in the A/C out, seat torn at 50K, and now the brakes are locked up. Biggest pile of junk I ever owned. Loved the truck until it hit 50K miles and then it started falling apart. No more Ford for me.

BUILT FORD TOUGH = NOT TEXAS TOUGH.

Probably going to get a suburban.

My 99 2wd truck weighed 4900lbs with nothing in the bed, myself and I can't remember the fuel.

I used to haul scrap with it and they had scales

Hmm, my 2011 F150 curb weight is something approaching 6200 pounds.

Sounds like a crew cab, either with a sunroof or the longer wheelbase (perhaps both). Mine is the short wheelbase and is the aluminum supercab that famously shipped without the crash bars.

It gets really good fuel economy for a work truck, and I do have a light foot on the throttle, but unfortunately it still drinks it's fair share when I drive... :thumbsup:

I've owned two; my first was an '07 double cab, 5.7, 4x4 bought new in July '07 that produced 15 around town and 20 on the interstate (as long as you kept it under 75 mph); traded that for my present '16 loaded 1794 Crewmax, 5.7, 4x4 with all the bells and whistles that weighs 6200 and gets 14 around town and just recently made a round trip of 300+ miles, almost all interstate and got 18.1. It was a bansei (sic) turnaround trip so if anyone on here has travelled rts. 95, 128, 93, and 3 towards Cape Cod, Mass. during the morning (rush) realizes there is a LOT of stop and go in both directions, so I was pleased with the round trip mileage it produced. The dream meter was reading 19.2 before the stop and go
