I remember where I was when I saw my first early 70s Honda. My first words were, "What is it?"

We had one of those Civics with a 3 cylinder (?)... Mom blew it up doing 90mph to work and back (lived in Germany at the time)

That brings back a memory. Decades ago I got a contract to install 2x12 bumper strips in a large underground parking garage. Easy work, good money. All the tenants got a schedule, when to park elsewhere so we could do our work. Needless to say, a few xxxholes did not care. In those cases me and my partner bounced their cars sideways out of the way, in between a couple of pillars. We got complaints, basically my reply was FU. Still remember that with satisfaction.

Classy...

Ah, she was driving in the slow lane.... :D

The first Honda car I drove was a 600... two cylinders and not much to write home about but it was a car and kept you dry in bad weather... for some reason I think it was air cooled.

That was it! It wasnt a Civic, but a Z600, imported from France as the N360 (I think) into Germany. It was small, 2 door, and Blue... 2 cylinder water-cooled motor.

This was in 1973-1974.. Ahh, the memories :)

There were also BMW's and I think Subarus where the front door was on the front face of the car. Maybe that Subaru was the 360-something. A small-scale Volvo dealer near me had several of each, retired, parked out back. I never saw them run.

Anybody that goes 90 mph in that better be glad the engine blew - it was for their own safety.

Those were neat cars. My dad had a friend who had one. My brother and I thought it was really something to ride in it.

Isetta, Fiat 500, Citroen 2CV, Moris Mini, Trabant, VW Beetle were cars that motorized Europe after WW2. They were simple and cheap. Got you from point A to point B. They could also kill you if you crash them. They had questionable brakes and some had also questionable handling. Those were the times of my youth.
