Mother of God Pole Barns are Expensive!

I just built a 30x60(30x48 concrete) and ended up right at $42k. That was having the shop built, I did the prep for concrete and had the slab poured. Did all of the electrical myself. Glad to be done with it but it sure wasn't cheap. About $5k of that was excavation.

Got a quote from DIY pole barns for a 30x40x12 at $11,500 for materials and estimate build cost through preferred builder at $5,600

Thats more like it. I have thrown out the idea of clearing woods to make room, as well as a concrete floor. What sucks is the area it would go puts it right in the middle of my rifle and pistol range

That's about what we were quoted by a local guy for a 30x40x12 with a concrete floor, a mandoor and three 12x11 garage doors.
We had him make the trusses go across the 40' span so if we want to make it longer, we can add to the 30' direction and keep it 40' wide.

After I have the slab poured for my 30x36 shortly, I will be at around $30k, before electrical. 17k materials (with two insulated 10x8 overhead doors, installed) one door and 5 windows, mix of attic storage and scissor trusses. $8k labor to erect the thing, is where I paid a little high, but I was feeling pressure to get it done and did not go with cheapest option. Did al lthe slab prep myself (2" insulation, PEX tubing, rebar) and am just about to have slab poured.

This was for one sliding door, one entry door, and 4 windows

Does not include pad prep
