Ahhhh...yeah, I needed the 78" unit...those are the ones on back-order.

Will be using mine in tight places so hopefully the 5 ft one will be best!

Makes sense...

This is the one I'd love to get:
Tractor Tools Direct | T62 Hydraulic Offset Flail Mower
But I just can't justify $4000 (plus about $600 shipping costs). This would be very handy to clear a few embankments on my property. However...just can't do it.

I want a wider flail mower since most of my mowing will be on a pretty flat field. I'd like one even wider than 6 feet...7 feet would very nice (Woodmaxx builds an 88" unit, but it's category 2 only).

But what I ordered (the Caroni) is what I'm going to work with...

Caroni makes a great mower from all I have read. The Woodmaxx had it's issues early on being make in Chine but has been much improved by Woodmaxx
folks over time. Shipping cost to the west coast and the fact Caroni was not available when I ordered helped me make up my mind plus meeting a fellow here with a Woodmaxx saying how much he liked his after one year of using.

So everyone with a Woodmaxx is happy with it? I just read this post and discovered them. Watched their videos, now wish I would have gotten that 62 inch side shift for my B2620 instead of the mm mower. They are almost the same price.

I may get one, as I want something I can use to mow the roadsides of my bush roads. They keep closing in on me.

Same here...I have a Woodmaxx on order (need to cancel) and, if delivery had been in mid-July as originally promised, I'd have a Woodmaxx. The delay until the 3rd or 4th week in August, plus the availability of the Caroni (which weren't in stock when I ordered the Woodmaxx...as well as the rave reviews in the TBN threads) resulted in ordering the Caroni.
Another thing I liked about the Woodmaxx is it's QH compatible (except for the Deere I-Match, which is what I have). I've read the Caronis aren't QH compatible...and I've read they are. I guess I'll know in about two weeks.

Time will tell you if it's a good brand or not.

My neighbour has a Del Morino single rotor finish mower, i think a 3 or 4 feet model.. The blade twisted dow into the ground when it hit a mole heap. And he busted the gearbox with a Kioti CK22 after.... i think 8 years of use.

I have a commercial flail mower laying around, which i still have to mount a hydraulic side swing arm for, and convert to PTO drive. I prever my implements as heavy as my tractor will carry, dont care if its old.

around here, heavy means "ruff an ready". We have some old implements from the 40's and 50's laying around that, while in poor condition today, are easily tough old iron of their day. As the saying goes, "they don't make them like they used too". Good luck with your project.
