And following up on the Bolt's cargo space sub-topic a while back - Somebody posted photos online with dimensions. This thing isn't exactly a SUV.

Link with the following photo and three more, in the Reddit Bolt forum.

Also: Cargo boxes that fit below that floor panel. Apparently Bolt does not include a spare tire.

Bigger space than on my C-Max Energi. No spare on mine either just a can of flatfix and a 12v pump.

I've learned to live with the cargo space. It means it isn't a long distance travel car for more than three people with more than a rollaboard each. When the second row is folded down here is about as much cargo room as with a Mazda CX-9 or Ford Flex has behind the second row.

Hmmm. I just remembered the entire folding rear seat assembly could be lifted right out of my old Wagoneer, leaving a huge flat floor with plenty of headroom. I wonder if the hinge pins for these Bolt rear seatbacks could be replaced by removable pins. Maybe make the rear cushion removable too, or at least protect it with a carpeted panel. These mods would gain several cubic ft.

NASA ROBOTICS engineer. Maybe with a sense of humor.

I can see it now...
NASA engineer thinking - "ok, what do I have to say to make him leave me alone... Ummm. Oh, I know..."

Did you read the article or just the headline? Article makes clear that climate change has loosened up northern sea ice, which is normally solid, that has now drifted south into the intended course of the research vessel.

Yes, I read that and several more on the same subject.. How about the record cold in Greenland? how ice is covering so much more now...

No, read something other than alternative fact Breitbart. The polar ice cap has shrunk dramatically and large ice shelves are breaking off Antarctica. Have you seen photos of Glacier National Park today compared to twenty years ago??? Sea levels are rising, where do you think all that water is coming from?

Sooner or later you agw guys are going to have to face reality and accept the fact that your argument has no credibility what so ever...
In words you may understand...never in the history of scientific mankind has there been a bigger misunderstanding of something based on biased, convoluted data...It is a complete farce (AGW theory)...the sooner you are willing to open your mind and realize the facts the easier it will be to get the taste of crow out of your mouth...!

For someone talking a lot about facts your post seems to be omitting something crucial.

No this is the right place, a belief in man caused global warming from using fossil fuels and spewing CO2, is the main reason stated for owning an electric car. So pointing out there is no warming or relationship to CO2 removes, most if not all interest in owning one, and pointing out electric cars are not green but spew CO2 also is a real education for those indoctrinated by the progressive media and governments. You would agree it best if a buyer has all the facts before they decide to make the sacrifices necessary to operate a battery car.

1.) Electric car "spews out" about 80% less CO2 than the best ICE. It does that only when charged from the fossil fuel burning plant. If charged from sun, wind or water it doesn't release CO2 at all.
2.) Electric cars are fun to drive.
3.) It is just a matter of time when the gas cost will shoot up. Venezuela is on verge of collapse, Iraq and Libya are a mess, Nigeria as well, ME population is increasing rapidly while oil revenues are declining. Local government paid people to keep quiet. But as the oil revenues decreased it will be more and more difficult to do so.
4.) We could make better stuff from the hydrocarbons than burning it.
5.) To have cleaner air is a good thing.
6.) To be a coal miner is an unhealthy, dangerous and miserable job. No I take it back, that is no job that is hard work. Installing PV is a job.

That's the thing that HS/et-all aren't getting. CO2 is just one part of what makes EVs so exciting.

They've got gobs of torque that can be controlled with extreme precision(~500W to 600,000W). I challenge anyone to drive a 5klb sedan that can do sub 4 seconds and not enjoy it.
Due to the lack of rotating mass(crankshaft, flywheel, etc) they do better in low traction situations(dirt, snow, rain) than any other car(sub 1ms response time). I can floor our 500hp Tesla in the rain and it doesn't even wiggle.
Much, much less maintenance, in 55k miles I've done: Tires, coolant and windshield wiper fluid.
Better safety(and lower center of gravity which means better handling) due to not needing to pivot an engine under the front seats.
All car subsystems can be run independently(running AC when you get back from the store for instance).
Much lower operating costs(5x less than my previous, 25pmg car).

There's a bunch of people in the local Tesla group who don't care two ways about global warming but like the cars, because they're fantastic cars. Any EV is going to share similar characteristics and is why you'll see adoption continue to grow.

Fill a glass with ice and water tonight, mark the level, let me know tomorrow how much it went up.
