The batteries are assembled in NorthAmerica with materials sourced offshore.

Looks like major manufacturers are all aiming for EV and hybrid future. Even VW seems to have given up on "clean diesel". Lots of battery production factories in the works.

Nasa is a governemt and goverment funded agency with goverment paid employees. Who wants to get fired for stating data contrary to the goverment approved mandate? Ask the retired NASA and other goverment and university employees about global cooling, global warming, climate change, the sky is falling etc.

You and Buick have remarkably naive notions of how science works. Government scientists are held to the exact same standards as academic or research institute scientific staff. There is NOTHING that any of those scientists would prefer to do than to pop the bubble on some widely accepted theory. That would MAKE their whole career, secure their reputation and let them write their ticket.

It is true that some government labs require that an approval process be followed before submitting papers for publication. The EPA is currently using that system to limit what climate data can be discussed at national meetings and published but if the embargo continues those scientists will likely leave and publish from an academic center instead.

You cannot hide scientific data for long.

Can you cite a source for that? Not an isolated case, but a general case that would change the overall picture.
