2555 hst 3rd function how to hook up

Well, getting more things and customizing the new tractor. I just got in the mail the wr long 3rd function but am not sure where the power beyond port is from the loader valve. here is a pic of the loader valve. it must be one of the top two hoses or the one on the bottom that I need to follow down. A little confusing since all three of the hoses goes under floor board on right side where one of those hoses goes to pto valve, another goes into the main center frame of tractor, and the third goes to the rear of the tractor i think to one of the rear hydraulic ports. also, there is another hose going into the bottom of the pto valve, i assume this is the pressure line.

any help appreciated. thanks.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I would call the dealer or a Mahindra dealer and ask.

My W.R. Long kit came with instructions and showed the power beyond port on my LS.

funny, my WR kit doesn't say where the power beyond is located on mahindra. go figure. thanks any way.

If your dealer has a 2555 with a backhoe (assuming you don't have one), the line that goes from the loader valve to the backhoe is the power beyond line. I have a 2540, if you post of picture of the other side of your valve and it's similar to mine, I can tell you what is what. I'm replacing my loader valve with a [huge] new valve block that has loader controls plus a third function spool, with its own lever. I will then use the old valve on the back of the tractor, when I have the loader removed, to run whatever (top link, etc.)

It's quite large, and will just fit in the space that I have. Its flow rating is about twice what I have, so sensitivity will be down, but it has a much longer lever, which will get me some of that back!

I like it. If it works well I may very well have to add one to my 2538 for a grapple. Not bad for $400 compared to $1200 for the dealer installed 3rd function. Im anxious to hear how it works compared to the standard valve. I would love to have the kit that the OP is using, just more cash than I can justify for it.

Here's what I used for mine.

Just add hoses. I have less than $500 in my setup. Hoses were done by a local shop.

I have a 3rd function kit that I'll soon be installing on my 2538HST. Someone was nice enough on this site earlier to tell me the power beyond port is the one that has the longer fitting on top of the control valve. And yes that's the one that then goes to the hydraulics at the rear of the tractor. I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, if anyone is interested, I have just completed installing the cruise control kit on my tractor that Mahindra sells. It was a very easy install and works great. All connections and brackets were existing on the tractor and took longer to locate them than to do the install. The entire job took less than 30 minutes, and that's with knowing nothing about the kit and installation since no instructions are included. You only have to take out the three dash panel bolts and you can get behind it enough to install the new push button switch.
It holds the forward pedal by a electrically energized magnet and like the automotive styles, it disconnects by pressing the switch again or the brake pedal.
