Other than wheels, what do all those have in common, other than the BMW and Tesla, they are apples and oranges.

You're late to the party Top. Read back to Buick's question I was responding to. Question was something to do with the "fact" that only a few could afford EVs. I gave the base price of the newly introduced Tesla 3 as well as a few other fairly popular vehicles. The LC was just for Houston as that's what he drives along with all the other well off soccer moms.

Would you like your pay packet based on LOCAL Wages or the World wide average?? Would that be the accurate acceptable Pay Packet for you??

The topic is the national average source of electrical distribution , not cooking the books with a local statistical abnormality.

Greenies??

Let's talk in stereotypes: Here's your representative 'non-greenie'.

Buick, are you the one without the cap? Now don't go and play the Offended card! :D

Still waiting after your diversion , for you to explain the Little Ice Age and the medieval warming trend.

Read again, the topic was a tesla towing a trailer up a mountain pass.

Still waiting for you to explain the Little Ice Age and the medieval warming trend.
Look you proposed those topics for discussion, you tell us what they mean with regard to the present era.

Repeating that diversion again and again you sound like that creationist lady who can only say 'but were you there?' in response to every question asked of her. In both cases, you and her, repeating the same favorite phrase attests to the depth of one's belief but does nothing to move forward our understanding.

On second thought posting your discussion of 'Little Ice Age and the medieval warming trend' over in a Friendly Politics global warming thread would be a better place to propose your opinions. This is a thread about the consumer aspects of buying an EV and your favorite reply to near everything is off-topic here.

Plugging during cold weather is required to both warm the batteries and to warm the cabin interior without depleting the limited battery capacity.

That sounds like a neat advantage to me in a cold winter morning- car already plugged in anyway,. Use the smart phone to pre condition the car before ever getting in it...
And on a hot day- with the dog along for the ride. Set the temp and don't worry about baking your animal while in the local store. No need to worry about leaving a car idling continually.

Bzzzt. Wrong!

This thread is about what consumers need to know before buying an EV. Local circumstances: climate, energy cost, rebates available, distance the vehicle is intended for, adequate dealer service, reliability of the brand - are important for the individual while 'national average source of electrical distribution' is a diversion you threw in because that's what you want to talk about.

I think most of us here are interested in the individual consumer perspective on EV's. In summary gaining personal knowledge, not interested in getting dragged into side debates on whatever you came here to troll, attempting to stir things up just for your own entertainment.
