No but I can't even really smell diesel exhaust any more, I think I burned out those smell receptors. You upgraded and I am glad for you but there is a place for simple diesel tractors.

I currently own a L2501, and I have not experienced what you describe........If I dont turn on the glow plugs long enough, it will puff black smoke that stinks when it starts. But that is only that one puff. As far as noise, it is not any louder then any other non emissions tractor that I have operated. In fact it is quieter then an old B series I used to have. Maybe just a different tone then the B because of the engine size.
I do have no doubt that any tractor with a DPF is a lot quieter. Those things are giant mufflers and since they filter out the soot, there is no oder either.
I bet once someone operates on of those it would be hard to go back! LOL!
I'm happy with my L2501.
Also glad your dealer worked with you on a tractor you were not happy with.
My whole reason for getting the 2501 was because it is simple. I would love to have more HP, but to me the increased potential for a failure was not worth it. I just want to do normal fluid and filter changes, put fuel in it and work!
If it takes me longer to mow my field because I only have 25 HP.....so be it.
I'm sure they will get all this crap worked out in 10 years or so, and then I will upgrade, but for now I like having an "old" style tractor.
... I don't have a need for remote valves presently....
Yes you do unless whatever you are going to be using the box blade on is perfectly flat, straight and smooth etc...using any grading etc. type attachment is much easier to use if you can adjust the implement from the seat...i.e., hydraulic Top and Tilt...
Being able to continually make minor adjustments to any grading implement while working is paramount for getting the full benefit of the tool...it (T&T) greatly mellows the learning curve...T&T can be the difference (with an inexperienced user) between making a mess and leaving a professionally done job...or close to it...
If you have any serious box blade or other grading work to do...go for the remotes and T&T...
