Oil & Fuel antifreeze

What antifreeze do I use in 5035? I talked to two auto parts stores and both was not sure what antifreeze to use. I showed them the 7 listed in the manual and both do not carry these products.

Buy the tractor supply "All fleet", its made for HD diesel engines and is pre-charged with SCA (silicate control additive) I think it stands for that. Easy to find and priced about the same as the others and always available. Most of the coolants listed in the manual are sold around the world and that's why you won't find them here.

I'd use the Tractor Supply stuff, or something similar that is made for HD diesel engines.... you need the additives. Most automotive and light duty diesels do not have cylinder inserts and are cast in block designs. Most Mahindra's are HD diesel blocks [ like my Cummins in my Dodge ] with the inserts....

Here's a tip for less frustration in your life: stop thinking auto parts store clerks know anything about tractors. Most of them know very little about cars.

Everything I have read says the Cummins in a light duty Dodge 2500-5500 is a parent bore, not sleeved engine.

I agree with "TemporaryKubotaOwnerMark", forget the auto parts store. Also your engine is sleeved and does require some kind of SCA additive. Regular auto antifreeze is not an option, except in an emergency and unless it is freezing water would be a better choice if you need to top it off. So you don't mix them and you can drain it later to put the right stuff in. As infrequent as you will be changing it, it pays to buy the right stuff. If someone thinks all antifreeze is the same and the only difference is color they are sadly mistaken. They are different colors for a real reason. I change and flush mine every couple of years so long life is not a player in my program.

I never change my Anti-freeze. The entire fleet, for nearly 20 years. NO failures or problems. Cooling systems stay like new.

FYI I have a 600HP Mustang Cobra that until this week had the original antifreeze. Not Rust, clean as new and spotless internals. (Since 2002)
I just add a 8 oz. to a Pint of Prestone AS-180 Complete Care every year. I can't find it in any Auto Part Store, only On-Line.

I also use a wetting agent.

PS. As I has to remove the radiator, I will Put new Antifreeze in the Cobra. The Used Antifreeze will go in the excavator/ Pick-up Etc. as needed.

I have always used Zerex Pre Charged HD in my equipment. Its the old school green Ethylene glycol that came in the machines so that's what I put back in. It's cheap but I have found I have to order it online as no one around me carries it. I figure continue to run whatever it came with.
I have thought about changing to a newer Extended life coolant (the old stuff is marked that it's only good for 2 years) but I'm always afraid I won't completely get it out of the passages in the block, water jackets, etc and end up screwing it up. So I just run the old cheap stuff.
