Seems like this picture was taken just a couple of months ago. The little guy on the tractor is my grandson and he just bought his first house and a new tractor to go with it. JD 3025E with a loader.

Where the heck did the time go?

Isn't that the truth. Also, the older you get the faster that time flies by.

It looks like you raised him right and now you get spoil that grandson.

Looks like you have been a successful father. In my world, that's what it's all about. Congrats.

Seems time slips by the older we get...cherish the moments.

My problem is the change over to the metric system. I'd swear that a lot of the stuff I used to easily carry and sling around used to weigh X pounds and now the same stuff weighs X kilograms!
I was working with a 32' ladder and by the end of the day it must have weighed 50 kilograms, not 50 lbs.

It's a proven fact that the closer you are to the North Pole, the faster time goes by. That's why so many old people move south when they retire, to try and slow down the march of time. I see you're living in Maine....

That explains it.

And I can vouch for it myself, after moving to ND from AZ 5 years ago. Time is definitely accelerated now. Yesterday my kid was in middle school, and now she's moving back to college in a couple weeks to return to her master's program.

We gotta move south I guess.

One minute you're bouncing them on your knee the next minute you're bailing them out of jail. With my family anyway.

I went to my baby girl's (now 27) wedding to a fine young man just last weekend. Time flies when you're having so much fun!!

I don't have to swear to know I'M OLD. Every time my great grand kids visit, I'm reminded, in a good way. The mind still wants to do what the body will no longer allow. Memories become more a part of everyday life. My son's hair turned grey many years ago - mine mostly fell out many years ago. The playing field is no longer flat - its starting to slope downhill now. Time to correct lifelong mistakes is growing shorter.

I'm told I'm going to a GRANDDAUGHTER'S wedding in October. Seems to have picked a fine young man.

Yeah, well wait until suddenly great grand kids start appearing. I already have 2 with more on the way so I'm told. THAT is when you start thinking.....

This youngster just turned 65 and retired. Now shopping for my first tractor and feeling like a kid again! Last month I went to my granddaughter's birthday party and traveling to Texas next week to my grandson's birthday. Both are 7 years old.

I appreciate this conversation. It gives me a lot to look forward to!

Just turning 63. Yesterday I wanted to start prepping roof deck of shop to install new metal roofing. Just a 3:12 pitch- no big deal to walk on it. Climbed up the ladder and put one foot on the roof but there was no way to make my other foot leave the ladder. What's up with that? Will have to make a "chicken ladder" and hope one of my friends don't see me using it.

And I'm sure I don't have to warn you - falling off a ladder/roof at any age is NOT an experience anybody needs. I fell off my roof while building my house here in '82. Thirty five years ago - I was 40 then. The only enjoyable part of that experience was when I recognized that since I could feel pain - I was obviously still among the living.

At last count, I had 6 great-grandkids, 4 girls and 2 boys. The two boys on the tractor in my original post are my great grandsons. I haven't checked in a while, but I'm pretty certain all four of the girls are in school already.

Statistically, there's a very good chance I'll live to see great-great-grandchildren...

Also, I quit doing roofs about 10 years back. Haven't completely given up ladders, but I need a REAL good reason to get one out.

And I'm still riding a motorcycle...

PHPaul, it's great to see your generations of offspring... thanks for sharing!

Having hit 40 at my last birthday, and like others have mentioned, not liking ladders near as much as I might have years ago... the concept of age is sinking in. Our oldest son is nearly 17, been driving on his own all summer, has a part time job, growing into an adult... while at the same time, our 7th child will be born any day now... a boy, we're told... I'm gonna be too d@mn old to do much with his kids when he's my age now!
