I just unloaded my new ZD1211RL-72R rear discharge mower tonight& it's pourin Hyd Fld

Mowed 30 mins & it's leaking 1/8" solid stream of Hyd fld from under Hyd Filter.

Filter was so loose I turned it with 3 fingers. I tightened it & it's still pouring.

I'll call dealer in am & remove filter for a look see.

Man I Love the mower & it's cut with the Rear Discharge.

I've been mowing with rear finishing mower behind a JD tractor since 2001 with RD.

Looks great and good choice. Our 60"R should be in at the end of the week or first of next. Hopefully they will get the hyd leak found and fixed quick

I sure like the 7" Wider front axle on the 72"

Mine has 8" front rims like the ZD1511 comes with.

All the ZD1211 I've seen has the 6" front rims, of coarse both are 15" height size though.

Man, that's a fricking monster mower. I hope you have a lot of lawn, cause that thing will go nuts without a job. LOL.

LoL, it's a baby compared to my 66hp JD 4720 Hydro & Befco 110" RFM.
I mow 7r8hrs a week on my Farm.

I wish I had gotten the rear discharge deck. They did not have a ZD1211 60" in stock and the only one they could find close was side discharge. I didn't want to wait for one to be ordered. With the power it throws out quite a cloud of clippings and dust. If the wind is blowing I have to make sure the discharge is downwind.

I can feel this line in the sealing surface with my fingernail.
I hope it ain't a crack.



I'm headed to get a new filter but o ring on original one looked fine.

You zoom in on that pic and it looks like the whole raised top area has hairline cracks showing up around the port.

Or maybe I am just seeing too much. Check it out.

Those are swirl marks from the machining process.
New filter DIDN'T fix the leak.
I cleaned & watched with a mirror & flashlight while running.
The O ring on steel line right beside front Hyd Filter, was pinched & wasn't seated into recessed hole.

I replaced O ring & barely bent line to push it firmer into the hole on trans.

Bingo - I've mowed 1.5hrs w it & Absolutely Love it.
