Gator 6x4 dip stick tube snapped

So went to check the oil level on my gator over the weekend and the tube for the dio stick snapped off flush at the engine. Has any one else done this? Maybe inshould stop working out? Ordered a new one but not sure how it goes in. Does anyone have a parts diagram showing this?

Can't help with the attachment, but did they just use a cheap-o pot metal for the tube?

Found this for the tube.. looks like there is a bracket to bolt it on, and an 0-ring to seal it. Your new part should give you a good clue to how it goes on.

Kawasaki? They normally just push into the engine with an o-ring. You'll have to dig the old piece out.

Tex is right. Be careful not to drop any 'pieces' into the crankcase.

The support strap is bolted to the engine. Was yours missing the bolt?

No it just snapped at the base I'll take a pic when I get home

Had a dip stick tube break off on a car engine before. Took a welding rod put a little hook on the one end, wrapped it around a screwdriver on the other. Fed it down the tube till it hooked the bottom, used both hands on the screwdriver, pulled up sharply. Came out the first try.
