Man if that's a good example of what to expect no thanks! I have never heard or seen a Kubota run like that.

The sound of the engine is not because he turned it up. That is what a small two cylinder diesel sounds like. As soon as I heard it I thought to myself that's why most of Yanmars diesels are three cylinder.

All he did was turn the screw that lets the governor inject more fuel at full throttle. It's not going to change how the engine sounds. And the engine will only see full throttle when the governor opens the rack all the way up. That happens when it's accelerating (hence the black smoke) and when it's actually working to full capacity. So it will smoke a bit more when you are pulling full horsepower out of it. It you modified the air intake system to add more air when more fuel is added then there would be no smoke.

Yeah, it looks like Matt went "alittle" overboard w/ his fuel. lol
IF your serious about turning it up, just look at the screw, turn it 1 full turn, one way or the other, and see what you get..
If its too much or not enough, turn it back a 1/4 turn at a time till your happy.. its not rocket science fellas.. its a screw..

I turned up my L39 Kubota.

There is not a lot of gain being N/A non turbo, but maybe I got 5% more torque plus 1-2 HP judging from how it climbs the hill in our driveway.

Yes they can be turned up. if you search utube. motorman Matt> Kubota Diesel Mower vid.
The adjustment screw has a TAMPERPROOF CAP on it for a reason..
but can quickly be removed w/ a Dremel tool and a slit cut in it lengthwise and pryed off.
Good luck and don't hurt yourself.

Two weeks ago, while I was talking to my Kioti mecanic about my CK20 he suggest to "pimp it": "you could go from a 20hp to 23 or even 24hp!?!" It' s now a 5 year old, (no more waranty to be void) and could use more power - it's true! So he did exactly what you said in your post: dremmel air tool cut off protection cap, and unscrew.

The added power is very significant but the is no visible black smoke - I guess we did not go that far... It does eat up more diesel and is way more efficent. Nobody will get me to unscrew it!

He did also pimp the hydro restriction valve for the foward speed(low gear). He removed the spirng /screw valve assembly and tack welded the spring on the new more open position. It's less restrictive and now allowed a 1000lbs pression increased. The CK20 is a bit slow in low gear, but now I dont have to always stick the pedal to the metal!

It now stronger and faster! He's being doing that procedure for a number of year now - no problem so far!

Congrats.. Nice to hear a success story.. 7 pages of "discussion" over a turn of a screw.. crazy..

Hi guys I am from central PA I have a ck 25 and a ck2510 and i have turned up the pump on the CK 25 and yes you get more power I have access to a dyno and I went from 24.7 HP to 32 HP It really smoked when under a good load, It also made the paint burn off the stack so I screwed the screw in to 27 HP and the tractor works fine. I run a 15 K power plant and it has enough power to get the full 15 k out of the plant. the only problem is the Governor drop which is 200 RPMs under full load it will pull down 200 rpm and the governor will hold at that which screws up the cycles and voltage and bumping up the throttle will work fine until the load drops then you have to lower RPMs pain in the but. but it will carry full load. I have used this on the 1000 rpm and the problem is worse except this works well when we are not asking for the full 15k load. No on to the CK2510 it works better on the power plant because the gov drop is around 25 to 50 rpms Now this is a 24.5 hp engine with out computer controlled injector pump. Its actually a 35 HP engine detuned to 24.5. They turned the screw in and still could not meet the emission standard so they brought the max speed to 2600 rpm which is also the red line for the pto the CK 25 runs at 3200 rpm. Now with a shim removed from the timing at the pump I can get 37 out of the engine with also adjusting the screw. The first CK2510s were computer controlled but Kioti found out it was not needed so they took it off the newer ones which mine is. I also no longer have glow plugs they have air intake heaters, using the same principle as the glow plugs as far as the electrics go. the CK25 is gear drive and has been a good tractor and I have a 1000 hrs on the meter. I also had a 2410 which was more of a mower but had the features of the bigger tractor, was not a good tractor for me as it was always broke, so that hoe the CK 2510 came to be. which has been a disaster so fay the first round mowing in the yard I got stuck the FWD was not going in gear so 6 weeks later and many problems getting the parts I have the tractor back now at 50 hours the injector pump developed a leak its a 1000.00 part and is under warranty, Here we are a 50 hours and we are have 2 major issues with this tractor. I have a mmm and I installed the larger Ag tires and boy did that screw thing up all the mower geometry was off. I had to machine new pcs for lifting the deck the tires hit the deck. So I cant raise it up as you could with the borrowed turf tires. I had to make my own brackets to mount the mower on the tractor. It was supposed to use the FEL brackets which I did not get because I did not buy the loader. Kioti does not make separate brackets for my application. What a nightmare I will be running it in two weekends from now for 3 days straight at our tractor show for power with a leaky injector pump, this could get good. Their fuel tank placement leaves a little to be desired cause i need to fill for those 3 days with a five gall can, so I can see fuel being spilled all over the place. At home I have a pump. Well if I can be of help to anyone let me know at kkegris@yahoo.com by the way I am very good friends with my local dealer who is five mile away.

Please describe running the tractor on the dynamometer. Were you running AG tires on the rollers?
