You are correct. I fat fingered my calculator.:ashamed:

But that just makes the odds ten times greater that the piece of candy is poison or a hurricane of Harvey's magnitude will occur in a given year. I wasn't comfortable at 1 in 8000, let alone at 1 in 800, especially when it comes to my life and livelihood.

I am just going to assume you have cleared your land of all the trees and had your entire acreage paved to minimize the threat of wild fires. Between that and the fire sprinkler system you surely had installed in your house, you should be good to go.

People don't realize the people they are seeing on the TV, many most work at the plants and facilities that produce the chemicals and raw materials for the businesses that make your lives possible. These are the people pulling the economic cart called America. There is no economy without Houston, it's the crown jewel.

Virtually the entire ABC evening news last night was about Harvey. What do you expect?

Not so much here in the SF Bay Area... the coverage was mostly about Politics of will Trump and Cruz go against "What they have said" and help on a government level or not...

Citizens need help... damage being inflicted and the Bay Area news outlets are making it political right out of the gate... with much more coverage on the Trump supporters that canceled their permitted rally...

You must not have been watching the weather reports. When Harvey was still a Category 2 offshore, NOAA was predicting that it would stall over the coast and dump massive quantities of rain at least a day and a half before it made landfall. They were predicting catastrophic flooding, in so many words.

There's nothing political about a population of idiots who can't be bothered to take care of themselves.

And all the predictions were Hillary would be president...

Predictions are at best an educated guess...

There is a fine line acting prudently or going to either extremes...

Some situations only have bad to worse choices and some could be no-win either way.

A lot of hate in that bay area, saw Berkley videos yesterday. Dangerous. Behind their company sits a tank car with GATX on it....

I really don't get it... the peace in diversity marches get downright vicious... time to stop with the double standards... as an arbitrator... I would always make certain each party has the opportunity to speak...

On a separate note... the Bay Area emergency response teams started flying out Sunday to help in TX

The JD's I looked at were made in India and Japan. Kubota has moved North American operations to Texas. Who makes that green paint... Oh, when you ship those JD's, guess where they ship from, yes Houston. Lol.

That and you cannot evacuate a city of 6 million in 1.5 days. It's logistic impossibility.
