It's the home of Erskine College, and not much else.:)*

What I have learned from this thread is how unoriginal the settlers of the United States were, at least compared to Tasmania. IMO of course.

Oh, don't get me wrong about un-original place name in Tassie. We've got plenty of those: Perth, Launceston, Devonport, Baghdad... heck, even St Helens.

Mid way on the East coast highway is the Wye River. Some local put up their own sign that reads, "Because it's bigger than a creek." :eek:ath:

That 'local' sign remains to this day.
