MoPops - Of course, I think that's a great ride and the pics are fantastic. I think you pulled off one lucky ride also. I'll just bet if you went to that spot - now - that is shown in your pics - - you would be walking around in smoke, ash & corruption. I've read on this thread that the smoke, from fires out here in the PNW, is reaching as far back as Kansas and Iowa. Check post #420.
My family in Bonners Ferry Id report its bad. Stay safe.I'm sitting in Gig Harbor, about 30 mikes south of Seattle, getting ready to ride east to Idaho and Montana. The smoke from fires north, east and south of here has created a haze thick enough that it obscures details more than a mile or two away. Until last weekend it looked like I could avoid a lot of it by starting off with a southerly jog through Portland and Mt Hood but a large new fire started by kids with fireworks has shut off not only highways headed east from Portland but the Coast Guard has even shut down marine traffic on the Columbia River! It's starting to look like a movie set from some dystopian Mel Gibson movie.
