No Hunting Purple

Well this is one reason for me posting it. I have known for some time, but when talking with a friend he had no idea. That is what got me to wondering who all knows. Maybe I didn't put the information out there the right way, but I tried.

Hmmm. I live in the south. I hunt. I'd never heard of it. Looks like we don't do it in Virginia. I did a quick search and came up empty for this in Virginia.

I think it's a good idea, but the more universal it is, the better it will work. I'd like to see it in all 50 states.

Interesting. Maybe it should be adopted worldwide?
Here we use purple hoses/pipes/taps for waste/recycled water so no-one drinks it accidentally.

Local hunters just use the no hunting signs for leverage to get over the fence.
Have used purple paint and signs.
Find a hunter on your property supposed to call sheriff or game warden. phone just keeps ringing.

Since we now have the invitation only or note from owner the problem has slowed.
I don't mind hunters . but the trash and litter they leave behind. crushed ice sacks the cardboard from the beer cartons. Mc Donald Styrofoam/paper coffee cups.

OOPS,, I searched "Virginia no hunt purple" and the first item popped it right up.

Landowners may post their property by any of the following methods:

Using an aluminum or purple color paint, paint a vertical line at least 2 inches in width and at least 8 inches in length, no less than 3 feet and not more than 6 feet from the ground or normal water surface and visible when approaching the property.

First I've heard of this but hopeful FL will adopt it. Looks like it's been proposed here since 2012 though so our Gummint is it's typical slow no moving self.

I noticed this was posted about Tx with no farther comment on trespassing law in Tx. It isn't necessary to post,paint or fence in Tx. Get caught hunting on land without permission and you are guilty of trespass. Fire a rifle and the charges are more severe. Actually when it come's to shootting,fireing across a fence onto or across other's property is subject to a stiff fine. All that's assumeing you didn't kill anything,dead animals are another violation plus restitution. Many landowners get more money from leasing hunting rights than they get from what's produced on the land. If that isn't enough to deter wandering about a stranger's property carrying a firearm,consider the fact 95% of farmers and ranchers carry firearms in their trucks to kill varmints and defend themselves. Texans are serious about property rights.
