Good to hear. Don't let "naps" scare you off. Take 'em when you need 'em.

Best wishes.

Hi John

I had a triple Bypass on March 30,2017 , now 6 months since surgery, I am feeling great, did not have a heart attack only angina which resulted in the surgery, my LCA was 90% blocked so I was close to an event.
Back to work on week 9 after surgery, now have a lot more energy, wife loves it because she gets more projects done in the evening after work. My chest is still quite fragile, pulling on the chainsaw still hurts a bit, was back in tractor within 3 weeks of surgery.
There was a short time where I was declining the surgery, I am very thankful I changed my mind and went for it, life is so much better now.

Wish you a speedy recovery
Troy

Really. Was the the 15 years with no significant changes in diet?

Good luck with that.

Glad you are recovering and the operations were a success, and thanks for reporting back.

Up date.
Surgery was 9/28 so 6 days post op as of right now.
Released 96 hours almost to the minute from the 7 hour surgery to go home. Ah, no incessant beep beep beep and constant noise and lights.
Feeling better than expected but they weren't kidding about the six to eight week recovery. Eat, shower, walk a few steps, pee, and done.. Nap time.
Thanking all the TBN members for your input. Doc says I'm good for another 15 years after 4 by passes and a new valve overhaul soooo, not giving up the bacon, just not eating a pound at one time.
B. John
Thanks to all the members far and wide for your contributions and comments
Keep the spirit, BJohn!

Many people come back sooner I'm surprised you Dr. said that. Hold him liable.

Am I misreading the meaning of the above ? He should hold the doctor liable ? For what ? Do you think the 15 yrs is unreasonable ? I had my quadruple bypass 14 1/2 years ago .

Budweiser John what did they do to replace your valve ? Artificial or rebuild job or something else . Along with my Quad bypass I had 14 1/2 years ago now almost all my Doc visits included mention of valve stenosis . I 'm sure if something else doesn 't get me first, I will have to deal with the valve .

15 years would be great and some Doctors even tell the patients that it took 60 years to get this way so with the repairs you have another 60. The sad fact is that some come back in 5 to 7. Check with you local cardiac rehab and see how many repeat patients they have way before the 15 years. Maybe it just me but when I'm in a room full of Cardiologist and they all agree that Heart disease is a food born disease I closely watch what I eat and Bacon is not on the menu. I prefer dinner forks over surgical knives. There will always be the lucky ones that don't change their diet and depend on luck. But just the lucky ones will be responding. You will not be hearing from the unlucky ones. That is why I said "Good Luck".

As far as holding the Dr. liable you would probably have to get the 15 year warranty in writing. Good Luck with that.
I also wonder what the Dr. would say if he heard his bypass patient will be continuing to eat Bacon. Does the 15 year warranty still apply?

Hey, the OP asked for advice would you tell him diet has no effect on his heart disease?

txdon I truly did not mean to start a debate . I just needed some clarification on a few points in your post. But since you took the time to reply let me address some of your statements . I made no mention of bacon so you can throw that part out . I made no mention of diet of any kind . Throw that out too. I also gave no advice so throw that out . In fact I didn 't even comment to the OP . I did notice you never answered any of my questions . I 'll narrow then down to two slightly reworded. Liable for what ? Do you think it was unreasonable for the doctor to say 15 years .
