Even better, it's always better to have a bit of experience on your side. I'm sure you'll have it fixed in no time.

Oh yes, definitely. That's why I am on here. I always prefer to get other opinion's on stuff I either have never done, or even if I have but been awhile since I did. I have learned it saves time in the long run. I tried the link for the manuals. They had nothing on the MF35.

Same for me. As for the manuals, they're in there somewhere. The site is a bit difficult to navigate. I'll poke around and see if I can find them. I got mine from agcopubs so I know they've got them.

What is the " candle trick" ?

What is the " candle trick" ?

Heat surrounding area until it's super hot, melt a candle into it, walk away until it cools.

As everything cools, the wax is sucked into the threads. Most of the time, the stuck bolt/stud/nut can be turned out with little effort.

Lots of Ford guys use the trick on their exhaust manifolds, my brother included. I've used it on a few different very rusted projects and it always seems to work, even where just heat alone fails.

I've used PB Blaster, Kroil, etc...penetrating oils in the past with good results. Several years ago I started making my own solution consisting a 50/50 mix of acetone and transmission fluid. A gallon of acetone is around $17 at Lowes. I purchased several spray bottles for a couple bucks each. Works better than anything out there for a faction of the cost.

I have used all of that stuff as stated at the beginning of post EXCEPT 50/50 mix one. That one I will try also before I go to the air tools to remove the manifold nuts. Doesn't the acetone eat up the spray bottles? Or because of the tranny fluid it does not?

The acetone plus automatic transmission fluid combination as a penetrating lubricant has been widely discussed in several forums. I tried mixing the two components , and found that they do not form a solution, but soon separate into two layers. Some people say that there originally was a third component . Others say that, despite the separation issue, it still works well. Since I've never tried using it as a substitute for commercial penetrates, I really don't know. And don't worry about acetone eating the spray bottles. If the bottle is polyethylene , almost nothing will attack it. But, the pump mechanism on the bottles may not last for more than a few weeks. ( But, I do plan to try the candle trick !)
