Carry permit. Would traffic stop make police be more cautious? yea or nay?

Simple... If I can put my life on the line in the defense of this country, I see no reason why I should have to wear a seat belt if I don't want to. If I kill anyone, it will be myself. Long time ago I rolled my VW down an embankment when I was young and stupid coming back from doing some ice diving. No seat belt, and 2 full size scuba tanks in the back seat. Dumb luck, still here. It is however nice of the state to be looking out for my best interest though.

Besides that, it's worth the price of admission on how I handle it thanking them for looking out for me.

When it's your time, it's your time.

That said, I am setting an example for my boys and wearing it at all times when thier in the car;)

My truck doesn't require a seatbelt. I rarely wear one when driving it. When I get in my wife's Jeep GC, which requires one, I almost always put it on. I would definitely put it on every time if I had repeatedly received a citation for not doing so.

So with your boys, you are untruthful, or better said, "do as I say, not as I do"?? ;)

Perfect example was Sigarm's video he posted. The LEO didn't care what the driver's answer was to his questions. He cared about the mannerism. Perfect example of an LEO analyzing the person he was dealing with and that person's intent. :)

Thus the reason why never give more information than your required to.

I do believe that same LEO was reprimanded, but that could of been for public use only.

I did have a state trooper pull me over late at night on the way to a hotel for work (he said I hit the yellow line and thought I was drinking). He kept walking around the car shining his flashlight in my car. I basically asked him to either write me up or let me get going as it was very late, I was getting tired, and I had to get up in the next 4 hours for work. He let me go. Personally, I didn't care. I don't drink and it was late, and he was wasting my time looking for whatever he thought I might have in my car that didn't exist.

No, I wear my seatbelt at all times when they're in the car. I can put A LOT of miles on for work (current toyota is coming up on 400k). Sometimes I honestly forget now that I have a family.

I'm going to go back 100 posts to "Bigtiller's" comment about not being stopped since 1988. I think he has me beat by one year.....

Why is it that we haven't been stopped in 30-ish years and you seem to get stopped consistently? Are LEO's unfairly singling you out?? Profiling?? You definitely need to hire a lawyer!!!!

When I say "price of admission" last seat belt infraction was coming out of a bank and the guy wrote me up IN THE BANK PARKING LOT because it was taking me time to get the belt on leaving the ATM after working hours. Honestly, that guy (state trooper) was a prick. Same one who asked me why I was wearing a gun on my belt (after I informed him I was armed and had my sidearm on my waist).

You continually make my point for me. I'll just stop commenting and let your comments make my point!!! :)

I have a lawyer, not needed for basic traffic violations. Mostly for living will and some business, never need for the police. Most of my violations have been seat belt. I just happen to believe that the state has no right to tell me if I have to wear my seat belt or not while driving my car. The way I saw it when I was younger, if God let me live to that point, if he was going to take me in a car without a seatbelt, so be it.

I think we discussed this situation in the first 30-ish posts of this thread. The LEO could care less where you are off to. Not interested in the answer. Interested in the tone and mannerism of the answer.

Perfect example was Sigarm's video he posted. The LEO didn't care what the driver's answer was to his questions. He cared about the mannerism. Perfect example of an LEO analyzing the person he was dealing with and that person's intent. :)

Some of you guys are putting a little to much into this.. I haven't had much interaction with leo's but I have called on them on several occasions and each time I did I received NO help from them whatsoever so I'm pretty sure there are many that don't there jobs well at all, there people like everyone else, you have losers just like in any other job, putting them all up on pedestals is foolishness..

Thus the reason why you want protection, you need to learn to protect yourself.

As stated before, and it's been given in court, the police have no duty to protect you.

My wife however has been informed that if I'm away for work overnight, she knows the drill with the boys in the house. When the call has been made to police, no matter what circumstance, she informs them that shots have been fired and that she is armed, and that the police need to come with sirens down the driveway and when they enter the home to inform her that they are there.

Honestly, even with shots fired, I give them a 50/50 chance to make it within a reasonable amount of time, but I do hope it puts a fire under their butt.

But hey, NO ONE would ever want to break into your home would they?
