Carry permit. Would traffic stop make police be more cautious? yea or nay?

I am currently retired and am much higher up on the graph then I was when I was working.
When working, I traveled & interacted with(worked with, along side of) LEO's in over 40 states over the last 35+ years.

Depending on the scenario they are all crooked/corrupt...
I doubt you will ever see a cop siding with a civilian against another cop in any type of confrontation (unless it's personal)...they will always back their comrades even if it requires them to lie...

Then what percent would you say are corrupt? And what do you categorize as corrupt? And what profession are you? And what percent of your peers are corrupt?

Well..... If you include not doing anything when they witness another cop doing something wrong, the percentage would be pretty high.
My profession has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. Nor does how law abiding people in other professions are.

Having and announcing that you had a weapon in the car could make many things go wrong during a routine stop.

My advice would be to establish communication with the officer over the particular event that brought on the stop. and then, if needed. state that you are licensed to carry and that you are doing so.

Hands on deck, nothing provoking. Things can go so wrong, so fast ....

That's all good . But I don't remember seeing a permit being requirement in the 2nd amendment. The last words in the 2nd read''shall not be infringed'' We here say a permit is an infringement .

Neither I nor any of my veteran buddies consider police and fire anything but civilians. But there sure seems a trend towards that use.

Police and civilians should both treat each other with respect.
I assume most people are mostly honest.
A non police person (civilian) that is dishonest and interacting with me is unlikely to cause me long term problems. But it can happen and so a person should be careful.
A dishonest police officer or a officer just having a bad day or a minor bit of bad judgment can easily cause me long lasting problems. So I agree with those that suggest a person should be careful with their dealing with others. Especially law enforcement.
Mix firearms and or concealed carry into such situations and things can quickly and easily go wrong. So darn sure need to be careful.

Sworn law enforcement officers are civilians. They do not report to the Commander in Chief. They are not subject to the UCMJ. They are part of and subject to, the civil authority, not the military.

The increasing militarization of our civilian law enforcement agencies is a serious threat to liberty, and this misuse of the term, "civilian" as if police officers are somehow not civilians is a very dangerous error.

Defacto.. police are not civilians.
