Tractor
none
Well I was gotten the green light to get a new tractor. I've been going all the research on them. That's a whole different topic. But looking at my two car garage the other day, I was thinking of the space or lack there of. It got me thinking, do I forgo the tractor till spring and build a 30x40 pole barn before winter hits. Lawn mowing is about done for the season and snow removal would be the primary use of the tractor till spring. I do have a walk behind snow blower so I really don't NEED the tractor. And any projects would most likely wait till the spring anyway.

So the dilemma is barn or tractor. They'd be about the same cost.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

I'd build the barn. Odds are that by the time you are done, you'll know more about what you want in a tractor, and what you where going to buy today, wont be what you buy in six months.

Thanks Eddie. I appreciate the response. You made a good point. Plus having all my tools out of the garage will make the wife a little happier, out of (her) sight, out of mind. She'll be able to use the garage in the winter and I can just use the barn.

I'm really good at justifying my options.

I would get the tractor first , great for digging the post holes and moving dirt .

Wait on the tractor. You'll appreciate having a place to store it!- and everything else!

I understand where you are coming from. Moving dirt is always a plus. At this time I really don't have the time to build it myself. Luckily I have a pretty flat area.
Thanks
It would be great to having the bragging rights to say I built it myself. But with my job it's just not in the cards this time of year.

I grew up with no place (under cover) to work on cars, tractors always outside. So I know exactly what you are saying.

Man get the tractor you can dig your holes, run your power, lift your lumber with your forks, use it for your sawhorse and haul away your scraps. I actually used my tractor to drag out my own trees and my brother milled them and every stick of lumber was free for my 20x40 pole shed. Plus its easier to convince your wife your tractor investment needs a roof over it then your empty shed needs a new tractor. Let alone moving snow is more fun with a new toy then a snowblower.

Barn first. I don't like stuff out in the weather.
