I've also never claimed to have close to a 1,000 dealings with the police and yet I get critiqued about it because I take another members "word for it" per a statment they made per their own personal experience with the police.

Nice dance.

I think whoever makes the laws and those that uphold them will always be corrupt.

I like to say that I either want less corruption or more chance to participate in it myself.

I would have the utmost respect for cops if they:

became model citizens

weeded out the Ego mentality in their ranks

and reverted back to being our friendly servants and not this militarized storm trooper version of law enforcement. Although I do genuinely fear that this has a planned purpose.

Law enforcement changes and adjusts in response to what the world requires of it. What would you do ... Ask that Police carry whistles and Nerf guns alone, in response to the changing threats by society? Maybe if the authorities tried to hug the Tsarnaev brothers, they would have laid down their assault rifles peacefully? Give me a break.

When the world changes, Police tactics can change

And of course, you'll take Tom's word... Because you both share the same OPINION based on your limited exposure. Point is, Tom is a random, anonymous internet persona, like the rest of us. We don't know if his claim even happened... If he is even telling the truth in his claim... And even more, we don't even know any of the factual details or background..
This is a community, albeit online.

When a member of that community will not say where they are from, that extra layer of perceived anonymity makes me suspicious of anything they represent as fact. Just not the way credible people act.

Have you looked at the stats as far as how many people actually die of "terrorist" or other shootings compared to other causes?

Besides, Police response to such incidents is always Too Much, Too late anyway. I don't expect them to have a chrystal ball, and intelligence agencies are pretty much useless, but what's the point and expense of the HUGE show of force afterwards?

And then the massive "Investigations" of which the public is told anything but the truth (via the media).

Now you are talking about human nature tendencies. How many times have you been guilty of that? You've never been in a crowd of people and ignored someone's bad behavior?

You missed the point...it's about the facade that all LEOs expose...
Denying the code exists is nothing but naivety...the only bond stronger is that between duty partners...
