Hm... several of the .45 acp 1911 pistols I have owned have been extremely accurate. I am wondering if it is the pistol or the trigger puller?.

Now I am not talking about some old milsurp .45 that rattles when you shake it. You know the kind, what we call a chicken caller. You can shake them to call in the chickens. :)

Now don't get me wrong, I carry one of the many 9mm's I own too, but "back in the day" when I was a LEO, I carried a .45acp Colt Gold Cup both in the Sam Browne belt and concealed on an inside the waistband holster. The Gold Cup was a very accurate pistol. I had complete confidence in it even using the available HP ammunition back then. There is much better ammo available now.

I carry a 9mm over my 1911 and I still have a hard time keeping my pants up even with the belt cranked tight. Besides, I can't hit crap with my 45.
9mmP has killed more humans than any other handgun round.

We had an Army Medical Corps book in the Squadron Operations Center with small arm wound pictures and case studies. Anyone who saw what FMJ 9mm did to US soldiers in WWII would never question the effectiveness of that round. Odds are that anyone hit in the torso with any center fire round is probably going to die in a pool of blood. To suggest that .45 ACP has an advantage if you miss is pretty silly, but I believe the poster was joking.

Carried an M1911A1 in the Army, still have a few along with a Sig P220, and have some other calibers like 10mm, but have always carried a single stack 9mm.

Just please tell me that the airplane industry isn't like the HVAC industry where PE engineers copy and paste specifications / equipment on plans per what they're looking for, when what they're copying and pasting is the wrong equipment for the application and WON'T work. I'd be afraid to fly if this is what's happening for parts being used to construct commercial airplanes
You can rest assured that aerospace engineering is not a cut/paste proposition at least at the major OEMs! Not to belittle it, but a PE license means you passed a test and have an general understanding of mechanical, civil, or electrical, etc engineering. It does not mean one has pertinent experience or strong expertise in a particular field.

What is a PE?

And now back to the thread topic...

The trigger puller's accuracy is closely related to the scenario. We talked about that earlier. :)

Exactly right. A higher standard for them is just and right.

Instead, we have a double standard where it is very difficult to prosecute LEOs for breaching that public trust.

Yep. Their blue wall protects them. Otherwise good cops look the other way... And becomes as bad as the first lawbreaker.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry, SS, night sights, .45 acp, 7 mag and 1 in the pipe. Weights 2 lbs loaded. More accurate than me.
