Which grapple?

Your Case 580C would easily handle either grapple - but with the 50" ANBO you would be gaining 160# over the LP.

Did you mean 60" ? I will double check the weights. I have asked for a quote from Anbo for their 60".

My 580C is an a 1984 currently needs a minumun of 1600 bucks for a component in its power steering system and the pump should also be replaced 600 bucks these prices are parts only. then there are the steering cylinders, ? I just use it for it's backhoe use. I was pleasantly surprised as I was dragging a tree with my Kubota and it got to point where its wheels (4x4) were spinning, hooked up the 580 and it spun also so I setup and used the hoe to drag it 4' at a time the last 20' to where I wanted it. I was impressed with how much the Kubota could pull.

Yes, - too many numbers, too early in the am - - I DO mean 60". I know you would not go wrong with either the LP or ANBO grapple. The advantage is the ANBO is lighter - they use type 400 steel or something like that.

I've found that one of the "neatest" uses for my grapple is back dragging to smooth after it plow and/or disk. Really works like a champ.

However - I must say adios - its a tad past 9am here and NCAA college football is on the air.

I have the Anbo grapple. It worked great at first. I would grab a pile of debris and would notice the tines would bend, but then they would spring back to the original position. After a few months, tines started bending and would not spring back and would keep the unit from closing. Being under warrantly, I called Anbo and they were pretty obnoxious about it. At first they told me my tractor was too big for the grapple (a JD 4720, funny when I called originally to get info on the unit they said it might be too big for the tractor). Then they basically said they weren't going to cover it period. I got my dealer involved who techinically bought the grapple from them. Long story short, the dealer heated and bent the tines back and put in steel reinforcements. I had to pay about half the cost (a couple hundred bucks) and either Anbo or the dealer ate the rest. Anbo specifically said that they denied any liability whether they paid any of it or not. After heating the tines they, of couse, lost their temper and most of them are bent again.

Unless you are doing really light work, I'd look at another brand that has stronger tines.

Pokeboater, What size Anbo do or did you have ? sorry it failed you.

Hammy, How do you like your Anbo ? I am looking at the Land Pride SGC1572 (local dealer) so if I do have a problem he is 1.5 hr drive away. Land Pride is 882 lbs kinda heavy. But I am leaning towards the Anbo GS-S 72" as you know it wt is 780# the price is same for either one within 30 bucks. Land Pride made of Grade 80, Anbo states all tines are made of AR400. That maybe why I am leaning to Anbo. Our tractors are the same hp I have a M5140 Loader is LA1153 spec's on my tractor & Loader seem close to yours. How do you like your Anbo now that you have had it awhile. I would appreciate any feed back and suggestions from you or anyone as I am getting ready to buy. Thanks Bill

You might be ahead starting a new thread. This thread was 10 years old that you replied to. And the members you are asking questions of have few posts and havent been on here in a year +. So its unlikely you will get any responses.

As to the grapple.....There are many many MFGs of them out there. Personally I dont think a M5140 needs a 700-900 pound grapple if its done right. There are more affordable and lighter grapples that better match the machine IMO.

And I dont think I'd consider putting either (the anbo or LP) on a fullsized TLB like the case 580. But it sounds like that isnt your intent:thumbsup:

Land Pride is a few bucks cheaper, But the Anbo Tines made with AR400 Steel, it opens to 51" weight is 660# where Land Pride is 784# An EA about 2900 bucks. I hear lots of good things about the Anbo. I have always found if you by a better tool it will last. My two cents. If you see flaw in my thinking please tell me. Thanks

What is the main use for your grapple?

case580c, you didn't answer my question in the Wicked Thread, so I posted it here. EA shipping to northern California is usually $200 or less. Since you have read a lot of the grapple threads you probably noticed that the L bottom grapple is more popular than the clamshell style. My first was a clamshell, main use was picking up sheared off cedar trees. Didn't work well, but better than no grapple. Sold it at got a narrow L bottom, worked great.

Have since bought a 72" wide L bottom, so now have two of the most popular style grapples.

No problem. The grapples that I have won't be ideal for your tractor. The little Gorilla Grapple that I bought to pick up cut off cedar trees is 44 inches wide, 31 inch opening and weighs 946 pounds:

The Monster Grapple That I use for picking up dead tree limbs, weighs 1168 pounds and opens to 51 inches:

Can't do this with a clamshell style:

You don't need a link, just click the little "View Post" icon after my name in post #36 that I quoted above.

OK I went into my profile and R&R my email address I hope that works as I don't get email notification (it's been lonely here just talking to myself. I so you and others thinking I should go with this or something like it -> Mega Compact Utility Tractor Wicked Root Grapple from Everything Attachments

ETA-MCURG-73 Everything Attachments Wicked Root Grapple for Large Compact and Utility Tractors 73"

I know from experience, (I grew up on ranch lots of tractor and equipt experience I am retired now had a Grading and Excavation since 1975 ran lots of rigs from a JD 350 Dozer to D7s and I know what ever grapple I buy I will be careful with it and I have no employees any more to break stuff by misuse and stupidity) But I not want a grapple that is to light in construction for my size tractor as if there is something I want to move I want the pressure relief to not allow me to pick it up, I do not want the loader to lift it and the grapple to bend. I like your equipt. Thanks again
