New garage for tractor and equipment

The Dart was a slant 6 car, but with a factory 8 3/4 rear end. It is now Mini tubbed, with a spring relocation, Narrowed Strange S60 with a Rielly MotorSports triangulated 4-link, and also his tubular front end. I also converted that car over to 4 speed, and built a 408 stroker, gear drive, alloy heads, roller cam etc etc. But like I said, they just sit now, so I actually need to build a small garage to put them in. Looks like I'm buying concrete!

Still have the 318 Valiant I bought for $800 back in school... drove it 20 years and used it like a truck towing 1 yd ready mix cement trailers... plus water heaters, fence material etc... only made one mod and that was adding leaves to the rear spring pack... don't like a car the drags.

The 318 is a good engine. Pretty bulletproof.

I got a deal/steal on the Hemi RoadRunner long ago before prices started to climb. Then prices went crazy. I actually was shopping for a 68 Dodge Charger 440, but as I shopped around I learned about the legendary Hemi engine and what sort of value it put on cars if they were numbers matching. And some even not if numbers matching.

But, with a little foresight the killer deals were brand new Plymouth Superbirds in about 1970 or so. Insurance companies were being friightened by the rapidly increasing engine size and horsepower so they started requiring stupid crazy premiums for those models. Dealers couldn't move them off the lot and were begging for any offer to try to dump them. Oh, if I just had the money and wisdom back then to buy a Superbird or a Daytona. Or a HemiCuda. But, at the time, I think I had neither money nor wisdom. Still lacking somewhat in the wisdom department ... :laughing:

Briefly had a blue non-metallic 1970 Cuda' with a 340 and stick...

As mentioned it was a tough time for muscle cars in the 70's...

Had a temporary pattern of above freezing weather both night and day, for about a week.

Thus, the slab is poured. Metal building being fabricated. Should show up after the holidays .... becoming a January project.

Looks like a lot of concrete...

Weather is gone from frost to pushing 80 in my part of California... all depends on where the jet stream is.

Is the rebar for concrete block.

wow. very nice! How exciting!! Thinking about how to build mine gets me excited. LOL Just waitin on my concrete guy hes at least a month backlogged.

The best part: it will have an outside concrete pad. So at the end of the day I will be able to pull onto the concrete and hose the tractor down before putting it (and the mud) into the garage.

I'll blow my equipment clean with air but I don't like to use water for cleaning stuff off. It gets into the bearings and causes rust etc. Just my opinion

I like your idea for a building though. I just finished off my 30 x 60 shed. It's nice to have.

When I took the photo, I was near the slab, but on ground that is about 4-5 feet above grade level. So the rebar is for retaining walls on two sides. Those walls should get poured next week.

The retaining wall on the left side is designed for full length along the wall, but after the rough grading was done I found it is only needed about half way. I've gone back-and-forth whether to delete half of the retaining wall or keep it. My engineer says it is not needed structurally, but there are some advantages to keeping it.

How thick is the slab and a what is it costing per square foot, if you don’t mind me asking? Did you do all the excavation and forms?
