You will be fine on PTO power, just sort some weight to the front, I'm running a 60 inch flail on my b2410, rated at 18 PTO hp, and it's fine in long grass in 3 low.

Which model flail mower do you have on your 2410?

I don't know...don't recall reading that, but if it's the one I'm thinking about...huge thread! Thanks for bring that up though. Island Tractor has had a Caroni for several years and I'll ask him, as well as investigate myself.

Some good info in the big thread after post #1550.

That looks a lot like the WoodMaxx.
Already collecting metal to make a weight bracket.
What is ribbing?

I'm going to weld some thin strips of steel along the length of the roller,to slightly increse it's outside diameter and help keep it revolving when in contact with the ground, only in the middle third to start with so as to avoid it scrubbing in corners, I will tack them on to test, make sure they function before secure welding them.

The issue I see with welding ribbing on to the roller is making turns. I would think the ribs might dig in.
A possible alternative that wouldn't dig in would be sections of pipe with the same ID as the OD of the roller.

That is a fine idea Roy, I shall give it some consideration.
I don't have a problem with the roller on my deck, but can see how it could benefit from a larger diameter, it tends to smudge mole hills and the like to some extent, rather than compressing them down , maybe I'm just being fussy.

I am ready to order a Woodmaxx FM 78H. Currently been using a 5' brush hog (3 yrs) and I 'think' I have mowed most of the hidden rocks around here (gravel, old river bottom). Have a 2010 Kioti CK35HST (GREAT little tractor!) with added Top n' Tilt cylinders. Asking for 'Pros n' Cons' opinions. I am thinking Y blades, pasture (Johnson Grass, clover).

I am in much the same place. But my tractor is a little smaller. Ordered with Y blades. Plan on buying a second set when delivery is set. May also include a set of duck foot blades.
The videos that I have looked at look like the Y blades will do what my land very well.
