Actually no I just came across this doing a search on vapor barriers. Just wanted to help someone out. Plus I was bored and was meaning to get on here.

Redmann is correct about the Eternabond tape, and I don't think he's advertising or recommending it. I have lived in an RV for several years and have encountered the Eternabond tape. It's been around for many years and works very very well and it's available at RV dealers almost everywhere. It is very difficult to get off once applied. For his application, I think there are ways of fixing his roof without using Eternabond. For the cost of Eternabond I would think a spray elastomeric coating on the roof would work just as well and be a lot cheaper.

I'm not sure if you repaired this yet, but duct mastic (available at big box and HVAC stores) is awesome for sealing leaky metal roofs.

Eternabond tape is awesome stuff. Get the primer they sell for it. Clean the roof good, spray the primer, put the tape in place, roll it with something like a wallpaper roller and you are done. I put it on our camper in 2012 when it was time to start sealing the edge seams for the first time. It still looks like new and never any leaks in the camper. I'm convinced and will do it to all future RVs.
