This is what I get after Crazy Russell tore down my "No motorized vehicles" signs.

I hauled away his concrete. Somebody dumped a stump and some branches, so he used that.

Jeepers, its not your property. You have no business being on it, touching it, doing anything to it at all. Neither does Russell. If anyone hits anything you did (post, dirt, sign, etc...) and gets injured, even slightly, they'll sue you for everything you're worth. And the property owner, who will then also sue you. Everyone in the neighborhood knows its you that altered the property. You're doomed if anything happens, ever. Cut your losses and run. Fast.

No, but it does make you wonder....

Crazy Russell told me he was going to get a motorcycle and do donuts in my front yard if I didn't stop picking up the trash (nails, screws, broken glass, etc) he places on the new path.

It was during that interaction that I realized just how Crazy he really is. The kind of Crazy you don't want to mess with.

We always knew he was was weird (we've lived here 28yrs, he's been our neighbor for 17yrs), but the Crazy was a new revelation.

Is that Crazy Russell's truck?

As an aside, I contacted the offices of highly recommended real estate lawyer Louie Larimer several times to initiate communication with the estate of the deceased land owner.

They never called me back.

I've also learned the land is zoned "Planned Business Center" (PBC). I think that's a good thing. My fear was that it would be developed for cheap multi-family housing.

For better or worse, I hauled away his chunks of concrete and my sign posts he pulled out of the ground.

So there's nothing back there anymore attributable to me.

That said -- somebody dumped some some large pieces of concrete and I'm toying with the idea of moving them to where people are driving around the barricades installed by the landowner.

If I were you, I would move. If I had to live near all those chicken coop and cracker box 'houses' I would have to shoot myself. Let me also point out that ring shank roofing nails by the keg can get spilled easily on a bumpy trail. Besides, when they put up the WalMart on the property, you will have to be dealing with an even worse crowd.

One other suggestion, obliging your location, plant a substantial 'weed' farm there and invite the DEA to visit the customers who will be shopping, picking and ordering pizzas to be delivered there.

We own a 4 houses in the immediate area. 3 of them adjoin the property in question (hence my heightened interest).

The neighborhood really varies block-by-block. There is still the occasional drive-by shooting, SWAT raid, or car set on fire, but there is an overall positive trend.

We're about equidistant between Peterson Air Force and Fort Carson Army.

It's Colorado. The Crazy Jane weed is legal there as it is here in Warshington.
