And it even has a seat belt!

Great progress, on a very solid tractor !

If you are going to run anything other than just motor oil in the crankcase, add Seafoam instead of ATF. Many forms of ATF contain friction modifiers - bad idea in a lube oil.

Well I took off the oil pan and timing cover to verify no governor parts were at the bottom, which there was! Lol. Now that everything is good, I went ahead and ordered a whole bunch of parts like radiator hoses water pump thermostat, coil cap rotor wires and points. Some gaskets, a front crank seal. And that big service manual. The radiator is at a shop getting recored.

I'm curious to see what your governor assembly looks like. Glad you found something although it could be a part that's difficult to find. This tractor is really quite unique.

Here is my destroyed governor assembly. I was able to locate one for $200 bucks. Hard item to find and not cheap!!

My thoughts too. Anyways, a fun project for sure if you got some time to tinker and clean it up. One thing for sure is I would get matching front tires. This would drive me crazy but that's just me.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, what practical value does matching tires have?
Both those tires seem to hold air, what more do you need especially for a rebuild?

Not practical at all but if it is being restored...

Those old cracked tires wont be on there long. I think I can get a set of 3 groove tires for it on eBay for $120 shipped. Not too bad I dont think.

Today I cleaned, blasted, and painted most of the small parts.

I think DE was admitting to some tire OCD in the first post ;)

My used 2wd tractor came with flotation (forage wagon) tires on the front, as it had been used in a Parks dept.

I'm liking the one new 4 rib I finally threw on it last Fall - the one on that side had too many cracks for my liking, and was leaking air, so I got the OK from the CFO for a new one.... turns are less vague now, and I'm looking fwd to getting another 4 rib.

At the rate Mdude is going, he'll have his Olly parade ready  before I justify the next 4 rib on mine
