Tractor looks new. Nice size tractor. As the former owner of a 1720 I really like those 20 series compacts.

Blue competition. Almost a Ford?

Father and son rivalry?

My 1950 E27n.
Ive had it 35+ years, Moved soil, shifted stone and hauled trees. Now it pushes snow when it's too wet to blow. She starts right up in all weather.

nwhittemore,

welcome to TBN!!!

Both very interesting tractors. Give us a rundown on both including any history you might know. Looks like the second one was setup to run duals. I've never saw rear wheels quite like those.

Thanks for the pics and any information you offer.

1964 Fordson Super Major and 1983ish ford 7600 turbo . Purchased the Super about 3 months ago and just started the restoration actually painted it today . And the 7600 was bought new by my grandfather but caught fire when I was 12 or 13 and has been sitting in the woods since . I just pulled it out after realizing how stupid easy diesel engines are to rebuild after breaking down the super major and it shall be my winter project since Im now done refurbishing the super major.

Here's a project my Son's working on. Got this tractor from a friend. It originally belonged to the friend's Grandpa. It's definitely a work in progress on a very small budget. It was originally a Select-o-speed tractor. Sometime in it's life that system got replaced with a 5 speed from an 8xx series. It's a 901. He just finished splitting it to replace the clutch.

He needs to find a couple lugs that latch the adjustable rear wheels. Anyone know a source for these?? He's got two different numbers, appear to be the same lug, maybe different parts source? Here's pics of the tractor, and the lugs.

P.S. This tractor is a "gold" tractor originally. Anyone know what that means?? Little trivia quiz about Ford tractors..... :)

Coming along Very nicely- It is gonna look great!

Ovrszd

SCORE
901
9 -row crop
0??? my book does not show a middle#0
relates to transmission 1 (SOS, no PTO,) 7 (SOS, 3 point and PTO,) 8 (SOS 2 speed live PTO and 3 point)

1- last digit -all tractors of the series

Yes Gold Ford Select-o-Speeds were (Demonstrators) sent to select dealerships to show off the attributes of the Select-o-Speed Power shift trans and new improvements in Fords 100 series line It also should have the large 172 cubic inch engine- 800 and 900 series.

Great Find Gold versions Are/were RARE... Not sure of the value - but if it were mine I would run as is and keep trying to find a functioning correct SOS and then restore and Paint in the original Gold Demonstrator color- That is a Valuable tractor once restored -imo and :2cents:

You nailed it Dan!!! :)

I agree about the resto. My Son values details like this. He's already looking for an SOS. Found a complete 961 at Worthington's salvage yard. Is inquiring about parts there.

Bought this 1958 961 off my wife’s grandfather when he was downsizing. He was at least the second owner as he bought it at a dealer quite a while ago. It shows just shy of 700 hours but the tach has been replaced at some point so the actual hours are unknown. Here is a recent picture with me and my son and one my in laws took at least 30 years ago.

Go down the page to the place where you post a reply.
The bottom row of icons includes "Go Advanced", click on that.
In the top row of icons, left end, is an icon with an "A" in it and the icon is blue, click on that to turn off the blue.
Now place your cursor wherever you want the pic to appear.
Second row of icons, sixth from the right end is a square picture icon with black dots at each corner, "insert image", click on that.
A window will open allowing you to choose your source, "computer" or "URL". I use computer and click on that.
Lower in that window is a "Browse" icon, click on that.
A window will open with choices in regards to the computer stored location of the pic you want to insert, find that pic, click on it, then click on "open" down in the lower right corner of the window.
You will be back at the first window where you selected browse. Now click on "upload" in that window.
Your pic will appear wherever you placed your cursor.
If you want it to post in a larger size double click on the pic.
A window will appear allowing you to choose a size, I use "full size".
Click on whichever size you desire then click "ok". Your pic will appear where you placed it and in the size you chose.

Easy as Turkey Pie.
