Talked with my buddy who just bought the platinum 2018 F150. Says the sticker was around $68 and best he can figure he gave between $58-59K.
But they were begging to take in his cream puff 2016 F250 Platinum 4x4 diesel with about 20K in miles....so that may have had an effect on the deal. He got about $49K trade in.

no way did the dealer give 49,000 for a 2 year old truck no matter how nice. guy gives 60,000 for a new truck and is not sure about the numbers? Deal is always set up to show high trade as it keeps sales tax lower. Years back you sold trucks because they did not require a window sticker like cars did. Pulled numbers out your *ss and started dealing.

You priced a loaded F250 platinum lately?
I think 11% has been the assumed minimum discount available for 4 or 5 decades, except in the late 80s when GM thought they could pull off a "no discounts or manufacturer incentives" scam.
I would think that a "demonstrator" should be available for a MINIMUM of 20% off list -
Hey, wait up, it is DECEMBER already - think "last year's model" and go to 25%.
