Adding tie down points to front of tractor

We welded 4 grab hooks just inside our front grill guard, open side up. Two on each side, one low and one high.
It does require two chains, but we keep dedicated chains, 5 or 6' long, makes them easy to handle. Store the chains on their respective side of the trailer, along with the binders.
Just hang one link into the grab hook, and the other to the trailer, then take up slack with binder.

When I modified the grill guard on my LS XR4046HC I added a simple padeye. When transporting I install a Clevis to run chain thru. BA35596E-0ABA-479E-A560-67E218696803.jpeg3B271F70-D533-424B-9C56-AD9B929BC37A.jpeg

Just moved grill guard to my new LS XR4155HC yesterday for Trip to Ranch.

I made tie down points for the front and rear of the old Farmall. I took some 1/2" x 2" flat stock and drilled a 21/32" hole near each end. Next I bent a 30-45 degree angle near one end with a hydraulic ironworker. Next install a 3/8" clevis style grab hook through the end and bolt the other to an existing fastener or hole on the tractor frame...easy peasy.

Re: Adding the down points to front of tractor

I bolted D-rings to the frame of my tractor. Easy to drop a chain thru and tie down.

Your tie down look great. Way "over kill". One ring would lift the whole tractor. There is nothing wrong with that. The vibration and rattle I would not like. We used those kind of tie downs on a heavy trailer. It always sounded like rocks in a box. I like things smooth and quiet. Others had good suggestions.

No vibration or rattle that I can hear even while standing right next to it. Tractor runs very smooth. Even quieter inside the cab.

That looks great! I plan to beef up my brush guard on my NH Workmaster here soon and been thinking of how I wanted it. I like how you put the expanded metal on the back, gives it a cleaner look.

I just traded in that tractor for a new LS XR4155HC last week but, kept my grill guard. It worked great to secure new tractor for Trip Home from Austin. Kept my bucket as well because I already has 3 bucket hooks and Piranha Tooth Bar.

As I suggested in another thread, do what I have done. Attach a frame mounted receiver hitch to the front of your tractor. Even if you have to modify a receiver hitch or build your own, it works. Won't say how cause I don't know your tractor but, it will provide an excellent point to secure your tractor and will also act as a place to put a ball on for moving bumper pull trailers around. Or, as a place to use for pulling your tractor out of the muck when you eventually do get stuck. May not be what you want to do but, thought I'd suggest it.

Rams :drink:
