Investigating my Ford tractor's history/background query?

Would like to know more about my Ford 1210's history.

I bought the tractor new back in 1988, still have the original receipt that does have the tractor's serial number but, I'd like to know what year, month, date of manufacture is and any other information that I can come up with. I've tried googling everything I can think of. Any suggestions?:anyone:

Well, now I feel stupid.

My serial number doesn't seem to fit within the site's parameters.

The 1210's serial number is UC10118. Since I bought it new in August of 1988, I guess it's an 88 model?

I'm not sure about the accuracy of the tractordata info, but that site says that production of the 1210 ended in 1986. New Holland (121) - 3 CYL COMPACT TRACTOR (1/83-12/86) Parts Diagrams also shows production ending in 1986.

According to the tractordata site, 1986 production began with UC07232 and 3295 units were produced in 1985 (7232 - 3937 = 3295). Your serial number is consistent with production in 1986, probably near the end of the model cycle.

Well, it had to be shipped to the US and go through the distribution system before ending up at your dealer.

Yeah, that explains 60 days or so. They weren't using sailing ships to ship back in 86 were they?
It really doesn't matter, my 1210 is precisely what I was looking for and has provided many years of wonderful assistance doing things that would have been back breaking work with out it. Not the biggest tractor out there but, she never gives up. Reminds me of the "The Little Engine That Could". I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

One of the parts guys at a New Holland dealer looked up the serial number that is on my backhoe and gave me production date, in service date, who sold it, and who bought it when new. Mine had a weird thing that it was sold by some sort of broker rather than a Ford New Holland dealer. It started life at a road department in Texas.

Tried that already, the dealer or dept manager was not very helpful. May try another dealer though, thanks.
