Completed the hard part of homemade 3rd scv remotes install

Nice job on the install and sweet fabrication skills. So your control valve will control the fluid going to the back and the front at the same time and which ever set of remotes (front or back) that is not being used would have be disconnected from the implement not being used. Correct. Reason I ask is, I have installed a 3rd function on the front of my tractor and have wondered about in T's to run remotes to the back

I'm planning on doing the same thing. My only concern is what happens if I have an implement hooked up and there is a situation where there is negative pressure on the empty quick couplers. Will air get sucked into the system?

Nope. Hydraulic couplers close internally when there's no mating coupler connected.

My only comments are the front couplers look awfully vulnerable to stumps/rocks/sticks being that low and the rear ones would be great at collecting rain, dirt, etc pointing straight up like that.

Have you considered a cover for the bottom of the valve? This fittings look like they are hanging low and if you take a branch or something maybe you could breaking off.

The fittings are only a couple of inches lower than the factory installed forward hard lines, and, they are a couple inches higher than the hydro suction filter on opposite side. That, and I would never drive the tractor over any heavy limbs or such without installing a bottom plate of sorts, there are all kinds of items (wiring, sensors, hoses) under this tractor that are susceptible to damage other than the fittings. Stomper, thanks! and, You are correct in the plan of usage, one set at a time, either front for the grapple or rear for top link. (I will not need both simultaneously).

Nope. Hydraulic couplers close internally when there's no mating coupler connected.

I see your concern, I do know couplers have a pretty heavy check spring, and it would take a HEAVY constant negative to pull air into it when empty (and limited to cylinder volume on opposite end), haven't heard of anyone having problems like that, and I never have with any other tractors I have owned with "tee'd" hydro lines. Unfortunately I won't be able to test out the new system till after Christmas.

Thanks Texas! I had a 4200 and never understood WHY Deere used the cable design, constant lubing of the cable to make it act smooth. As far as the front mounts somewhat lower than the factory four, they are still higher than the other items that could be damaged if running over things you shouldn't be. Look at how low the hydraulic sump hose connection is, if you bust that loose on a stump, there goes $150 of Hygard onto the ground! As for the rear couplers, pointing up is the only way I could find to clear EVERYTHING on the 3ph, and I will post my solution on making them water proof, there is a method to my madness:dance1:

I hear what you're saying. I have the factory installed loader and quick couplers on my 4400, and am very careful to not run over things but on more than one occasion ended up with a firewood round or some other annoying object rolling around under my tractor wanting to bent or break things! It only takes a moment lapse to happen.

Are you going to build any type of cover for the fittings? They seem to hang low and could get knocked off. I clear a lot of brush and could see a branch getting up there and knocking them off.

Color me dense. You tee'd the supply and return lines to the FEL valve. Did you add an additional valve? When the new rear remote calls for oil, why would you have any pressure? The path of least resistance is for oil to continue to flow through the open center body of the existing FEL valve?. Certainly I missed something. Pictures did not clarify for me.

Deere installs a 3 spool SCV from the factory. The quick couplers act as dead ends when not connected.
