I see NO POINT in comparing on size alone! If one brand can compete with a 40HP much better fit machine for the same money as the other brand wants for a 25 to 30 HP unit then the more expensive brand simply looses in my book!
Its not just HP but also features each machine has.
Example- comparing a similar sized plain model to a fully feature deluxe model, the deluxe model is going to cost more. So features included need to be compared as well.

The particular Kubota the OP was pricing up is a deluxe model B. He can get the basic L models I mentioned for the same or less money, and they would be more inline with the Kioti in terms of size, features, and value. That probably negates your concern. But if we're only focusing on cost regardless of basic/deluxe/size/etc there are other brands and models that will then knock Kioti out of contention. I got the impression the OP was down to these two brands for a reason. If that's the case he at least needs to compare apples to apples.

I own a Kubota, never driven a Kioti but would favor a fair evaluation. Kubota dealer network is superior. As for Cab, I would NEVER buy another open station model. True, you must rethink height restrictions but benefits are substantial. I Have a sizeable driveway surface area and have plowed 4x already before XMAS. I do some woods work, I own 50 acres of dense woods. I have cut some paths that accommodate the cab height. Also had woods harvested for conservation last year, additional paths were included in contract. Don't mess with firewood, but I like maintaining access. Backhoe operation w/ cab, no issue. Dealer should have that combo displayed. I might suggest a look at RK tractors. Private label TYM, lots of bells/whistles, very reasonable. Could use that online pricing for negotiation. RK not likely local for you but I would NOT hesitate a (RK) TYM buy if I could save substantial $$. Single digit temps my area coming week, plowing in regular indoor clothing is just priceless. Curious how others view T YM?

Would take slight exception to comparison of a cat D-9 vs any compact tractor. Length of time for the task aside, I have pushed mature trees over and out of the ground completely w/ a crawler dozer smaller than the D-9. Destroying a small tractor to prove a point seems pointless. Size the task to the machine, cannot go astray. That said, agree that insufficient hp. Is often a regret for first time buyers. A reliable dealer will steer you toward what you need, not what they wish to sell.

I would assume if he is down to a final choice between different brands there is a reason its between the B model and the Kioti rather than the L model and Kioti. I honestly found many dislikes with the L and it still wasn't in line with the equivalent Kioti when I shopped for my last one.
Yes there are other brands that could make the price only choice go in other directions but again when I last shopped the LS model that was less expensive it wasn't nearly as comfortable nor would the loader lift to the height I needed to load my truck so it didn't make it to the final list.

Agree with Messick's factory unit very quiet. My unit, AGRITAL, is aftermarket. Quiet enough with everything closed, but not so much with open windows. Still, love the cab benefits.

Both tractors are great machines however there is a fair size/capability between the to.
In my opinion if you are definitely getting a grapple I would for sure go for the kioti and it’s higher lift capacity and weight. By the time you add a quality grapple to the smaller Kubota you really limiting yourself to what you can lift. Again just my opinion.
As far as a cab they can’t be beat. I have been in both of these tractors with factory cabs and noise level is not a prob. But the woods work will definitely be a risky proposition. That cab glass is very expensive and may not be available forever.

Thank you all for the great discussion.

The Kioti ck2610 hst was the one for me for a number of reasons... but it was very close. I really wanted the ck3510 cab tractor with all the bells and whistles, but my budget just wouldnt allow it. Maybe I can trade up in a couple years.

Some of you made the point that the Kubota L series is more comparable to the Kioti ck series, which I think is a fair point.

My deciding factors for choosing the ck2610 were: price, no tier 4, weight, decent lift capacity, good lift height, dealer is 2 miles from my house, and good dealer references.

I should have it next week. Happy New year

So far I am enjoying my 2610h. Its still early but its doing all I needed or expected it to do. Its actually surprising me. I downsized so my expectations were realistic. And so far its operating well. I'm customizing some stuff to make it a little more user friendly but thats about all. Looking forward to getting a grapple set up on it. That sort of thing.

I think the smartest thing was to narrow it down to a few top quality tractor brands and then shop dealers.

I hope you'll like yours and have good luck with it.
