Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 4:00AM. Lots of sunshine. High 59F. Winds light and variable.
Saw a weather map of the nation yesterday showing most of the central states dipping down below freezing this week. Bundle up out there, folks, it's gonna be cold outside!
With all my ins and outs at hospitals, the nights seemed to hold the worst surprises, Rip. One time they decided to discharge my mother at 3AM, no advance notice, nothing. They made arrangements to move her to a nursing home without our knowledge, and we were told when we showed up for visiting the next morning that she wasn't there! Had to track down the social worker handling her case to find her. So you're very wise to keep close tabs on your dear wife, and don't let the night crew pull any fast ones.
Very clever idea, that lighter, Eric. Hope you keep us in the loop on how well it works and how long it lasts. Until then I'll keep whittling away at my stock of butane lighters. May the Force be with you.
Gonna be hard to keep a low profile at work today, huh Thomas?
My friend gave his wife a new laptop for Christmas, and at first she couldn't figure out how to transfer over the info from her '09 MacBook Pro to the new one. I found an article on the Apple web site and we started the process yesterday morning. When I left, it still had 19 hours remaining...
Uneventful trip home yesterday with no stops, just plenty of sunshine and light traffic since this time I skirted the Sacramento area entirely. Everything was OK when I got home as well. A fire in the woodstove sure felt good though, as the inside temp had fallen into the 60s. Fell asleep on the couch at about 5PM, woke up at 7:30 and just went to bed. Too much holiday making over the last few days, and I'm not as young as I used to be.
One last round of checking the tires and oil on the touring bike, then get it packed for the New Year's celebration down in the desert east of San Diego this weekend. Leaving Thursday, coming back Monday, looks like I might get wet on the way home. Wouldn't be the first time...
