Interesting posts this morning from potatoes to fish tanks.. Wife has a 70 gal tank very nice she says it's relaxing. Well she is at the lake and I'm home with this thing and found that it might look nice but is a real pain in the *** to keep clean, and yes it can be more expensive than a tractor habit, $400 for a filter.
4 degrees this morning at 5 last time I checked it was up to 8 must be a heat wave. Wife called and told me there were a few ice fishing out on the lake this morning.
Just looked out the window and it's snowing. Have a good day

Riptides, please tell your wife that thousands of guys hopes she feels better.
A challenging time for both of you.

Had some tuna fish to use up so I made grilled sandwiches with my Cuisinart griller. Works nicely, makes a simple sandwich something fun,
like a panini or Cuban sandwich. About half tuna fish and half tabouli (diced tomatoes and parsley) reasonably healthy food.

Trying to do as much cooking as possible while it's cold out, and when the fireplace in the den confuses the thermostat, the one end of the house gets cold. Ceiling fan on plus hvac set on constant fan to try to spread the heat from that room. Toasty in there, not so toasty elsewhere.

12 here, and not going to get better, going to 0 tonight. Drinking my 2nd cup of coffee, going to go to the wife’s shop pretty soon. We got another dusting of snow last night, so I need to shovel the walk and drive a bit. Not a lot planned today, just trying to plan out next year. I’m thinking it’s going to be be very good for us!

Take care, guys.

Looks like it's going to be about 37* for low this morning. It's going to be partly cloudy with some 15-25 mph wind and high in the low 40's today. I can't believe the weather we are having. Not much snow on the ground and warmer temperatures then in the past years.

Made a trip back down to SLC yesterday to take a neighbor down for Dr. appointment.

He called after we got back and asked if I wanted half of a elk a another neighbor got on a late hunt. We'll have meat in the freezer for the year. I'll need to take it down and have processed.

Hope everyone has a good long weekend.
CWB.

Drew, we have an insulated "cold room" in dad's basement, and kept potatoes in wood bins. Window in room was kept open in winter. Dont think i would use plastic bags, unless they have air holes to breathe. Burlap would be better. Course mine are sitting in insulated unheated garage in plastic 5 gal buckets.

Good morning! Could I be the warmest before Sadamo wakes up at 51˚ heading to 60˚. We should stay above freezing till midnight new years eve but when the clock strikes 12 the roads will freeze.

Randy do you have a link to that battery app?

Glad my buckeyes won last night.

NWS forecast HIGH for today of 43, even though it's currently 44. But they think it'll go down to 29 tonight and then turn cold for a few days; low of 14 or 15 the next 3 nights, so we'll see. I had 3 cups of coffee, then went and filled both cars with gas this morning, and now having my 4th cup of coffee. Plan to just stay in the rest of the day.

Eric, my wife finished our turkey yesterday, too.

Randy, I never heard of storing potatoes that way. We used to spread them on hardware clothe on a 2 x 4 frame in the cellar, then sprinkle lime on them.

I知 sure every area had their own methods for storage. I forgot to mention that what started as a hole ended up a hill when we were done, did the same with turnips and beets. Idea came from Alabama with my folks, in NC some people stored them on the barn floor on straw with straw over them.
In northeastern NC basements were better known as indoor ponds! :D Water table way too high in most places for a true cellar or basement.

This is on my iPad. As you can see it’s battery is getting to the borderline stage.

Looks like this in the App Store, called Battery Life. 96F9F080-7292-4A82-B072-471899ABB3A5.png
