Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:15AM. Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High near 55F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
Looks like we got about a quarter inch of rain overnight, sounded nice falling gently on the porch cover. And the weather guessers are calling for another half inch tonight and tomorrow. Snowpack in the Sierras is averaging only 25% of normal right now, but the reservoirs, other than Lake Oroville, are still above average due to all the rain last winter. Oroville is a long way below average because of the work on the spillway, and from the discharge rate, it looks like they're trying to keep it that way.
Sitting at my desk yesterday about noon I heard a large BOOM and the windows rattled. Turns out it was a magnitude 2.5 earthquake located about 5 miles south of here. None of the usual rolling motion I've experienced before down in the San Francisco area, and the first time I actually heard one. At the time I thought it was another round of blasting being done by the local electrical utility, and was surprised when I saw it was an earthquake. Then this morning, there was a magnitude 4.4 quake centered near Berkeley. More signs of the approaching apocalypse, I guess?
Hope those along the east coast can hunker down until the nor'easter blows through.
Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
