You can always lower it 4'.

excellent idea actually, need to see how it's constructed. However, I have it all set up for an rv to visit, including 30 and 50 amp rv outlets nearby, so that
adds value to the next buyer. And 12 feet as you know won't handle the really big stuff anyway, but most.

People with half million dollar motorhomes aren't going to live
here anyway...I'm out among the small farmers just where I want to be. But this is still a champagne life
on a beer budget compared to where I moved from. 1800 total taxes.
So a, ahem, disproportionate amount of my annual budget can go to machinery.
When a wife shows up, if she does, that will sure stop. ;)
But then the barn will be full........

Always thinking ahead...and being thankful for today

Drew can you get someone to add sides for you height isn't an issue??

I was stupid/ignorant and asked for the twelve by twelve. Never get a square building I'm told, should have gone fourteen wide, big mistake and now
I'm stuck with it. So I can't go higher than wider, not with this wobbly construction, though i did put six by sixes on two corners sunk in concrete to beef it up
and I did pay extra for wind rating.

It's now 31° to match your temperature. Do you have snow like we are getting?

Predicting chance of snow next week, unless we could coax you to shut the back door. Please? Actually, my kids are loving this year of frozen precipitation.

Drew, really nice mower. Shed space dilemma for sure. Haven't tried the 303. Is it like armor all? I like Meguiars plastic polish and cleaner, but I would guess that UV protection would be best.

Lou, Nice forklift rig and sunrise pic. Looks cold.

RNG, I see those huge Oshkosh fire trucks being retired from airports that have the sprayer mounted on top of the cab. I would guess that it could make a wonderful grass fire truck. They sometimes go cheeeep. A few thousand or so. I always thought it'd be cool to have your own firetruck.

Did anyone see the little 5 year old boy who was shot in the church massacre get to ride home in the firetruck? He was happy and waving out the window. The fireman who rescued him promised him a ride in a firetruck. Was shot 5 times IIRC. Whole family killed. Sad to think about what "home" means now. Puts our little problems in a tough, smallish bit of perspective.

Hope and prayers for all, especially BEF, Randy, Ed, Rip's wife, and all those with some ailments.

Don, anything in your trash pile that I could use? :) One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Have a great day all...

45F with rain and fog to start my day. It warmed up to 48F. Today is the "mandatory" day of "kulture" with wifey.

Enhanced personal self grooming and exposing me to "kulture" on a weekly basis will not "help" change me for the "better."

I am humbled by how people in a much worse personal situation than I handle it better than I think that I could in their situation(s).

My + thoughts and wishes for all in need.

Have a good one everyone.

Looking4new Remember that snowplow drivers are as low as some brown stuff on the bottom of your shoe and don't deserve any gifts. A snakes belly button is higher on the pole of life than a snow plow driver. This is in the councilors eyes said:

14ーF and windy with light snow flurries, going up to 27ー today. We dodged most of the really bad stuff last night, and only got a brisk wind as the temperature plummeted. It's definitely cold again today.

The last house I rented before leaving Granite City had a modern natural gas furnace. However, the house was originally built in the 1890s, and had a coal chute built into one side of the house that emptied into a rather large coal "bin" in the basement ... it was more of a large closet-size room really. I cleaned it up when I moved in, screwed the chute door shut, and used the space for storage. Embedded into the concrete floor next to the furnace unit was the mount for a coal buster, which the landlord had removed some years ago, having no idea what it was. He eventually opened a small restaurant just outside of town, and had that coal buster mounted on the wall with a note that anyone who could identify what it was would get 50% off their meal. He told me once that over 99% of his customers had no clue, even the older ones.

Stay warm today, gentlemen.

I致e never seen one, but when I googled it, nothing showed up that I would think would be used to bust up lumps of coal. Must be a pretty unusual item, maybe regional in nature.

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 7:00 AM. Partly cloudy. High 59F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Went to Tractor Supply yesterday to purchase water softener salt, and saw that they were storing the bags outside. With all the rain we've had recently, they were hard as a rock. Went to Home Depot instead, where they have enough sense to store salt inside, same price, and got a nice young man to load them for me in the bargain.:cool2:

Mechanic told me that the local transmission mechanic, having seen the nice new 4th gear, now thinks 3rd gear should also be replaced:shocked:. The two disagree, and my tie casting vote was to put it all back together the way it is and get the darn thing back on the road. Now maybe next week.

Drew, I don't think the flexibility of your building has anything to do with the size. It's either not braced properly, the materials aren't up to supporting the loads, or it was designed badly. Good thing your efforts to shore it up worked, but I don't think it's your fault for picking a square building.

Sure wish Riptides would drop by to let us know how everything went on their trip. Hope he and his wife are OK...

Weed spraying this morning before the wind picks up, then a little work on the old motorcycle.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Neighbor of mine gives the garbage guy, a private contractor, Christmas gifts, and always waves to him when he comes by. One day I was talking to him, standing in his garage, and he had a bunch of old furniture out by the curb, a huge couch, a 2 big chairs. I told him they wouldn’t take it. Garbage guy came by, the driver and the runner picked up that stuff, made the truck eat it, waved, and went on their way. I would have to call for a special pick up, and pay some bucks!

I have a neighbor with a fire truck, Kyle. He found it in Lithopolis, Ohio, my old stomping grounds, several years ago. Had is brother fly out and they both drove it home with only minor problems. He was here faster than the local fire department when the canyon caught on fire two years ago, so at this point, I'm putting a fire truck purchase on hold. But I still think about it every time I see one sitting by the side of the road, and lately that seems to be pretty often. :confused3:
