You may be on to something... here's 15 glaciers that grew in 2015/2016... that's more than I thought...

(Kindly ignore the 121 that shrank) ;)

From here... interesting reading.

Goodness gracious. Maybe /Pine needs new glasses. He is seeing plus signs insstead of the minuses that are there.

Thanks for removing the long quote. I'll clean up the coding.

Google is no longer my friend. It's funny how I used to be able to find things on Google, but now they no longer show up. Two things that I was trying to find that I remember being big news when it came out where about glaciers in Greenland and India. Both where being used as examples of global warming and how they where melting so quickly that the risk of the oceans rising was much worse then predicted. Lots of data used from years of study to support this, and then it came out that they where falsifying their data.

Hopefully some of you on here remember this to, and you will have better luck finding the links to when it was in the news.

While I don't know if glaciers are increasing or decreasing, I do know that some of the data used on this wasn't accurate. Why lie about it if it's really happening?

If you have to lie to support a position, why trust what they are saying?

If I hear on the news that it's raining outside, I will look out the window to see if it's really raining outside because I don't trust anything on the news. If a politician says something, I expect the opposite to be true until it's proven that it wasn't a lie.

The biggest thing that I get out of these threads is learning how many people blindly believe what they are told and accept it as fact.

Not a problem. May not bring up the specific things you want but put in "Greenland glaciers melting (or shrinking) for the scientific reports. "Greenland glaciers growing" for the denialist and very dubius sources.

Never heard of Hubbard. What is the reason for it being a renigade?

I have no lidea but I'd bert you can find out in google. It is known and has been for long, long time.

Interesting thing about Glaciers a ski slope in Chili had to close, the glacier went away.

That was from 2015 where university of alabama study showed cooling, contradicting the warming. Here's an update from 2017.... the alabama guys made huge errors.

More errors identified in contrarian climate scientists' temperature estimates | John Abraham | Environment | The Guardian

My turn to shoot the messenger...your cited source is far to the left of mainstream...of course they would contest conclusions it's what they do...the same questions can be raised about determining temps by tree ring and ice core sampling etc...

Also the Swiss (who supply the glacier data) are in bed with the UN on the subject...so it taints their credibility...I am not contesting their data...just the selection process of monitored examples...

I'm picking my side right now! I firmly believe the vanilla frosty is better than the chocolate one at Wendy's. I accept no counter argument as it will certainly be flawed.

I totally agree!!!! The most "homemade" tasting vanilla ice cream on the market today with no exception. And those that don't believe that can go watch Glaciers melt.......

If I am in a sinking boat and I am bailing to toss the water out as it comes in - and I look over at the other guy and he is eating his lunch. He is a lazy guy and not really trying hard - so I say to myself, the **** with it. If he isn't going to work, I'm not either. And I start eating my lunch.
More like, if I am bailing as hard as I can I don't have any interest in giving my lunch to someone who is slowly bailing with a teaspoon while I am bailing as hard as I can with a I am bailing with a 5 gallon bucket.

My friend and I simply quit bailing and opened a beer.

IMO the countries that hold the largest, densest areas of rainforests should be becoming the the wealthiest on the planet...because other than the money spent on improving and perfecting technologies like ones that clean and filter emissions, and safe clean energy storage etc., etc...Most all of the grant and study money should be given to said countries to preserve said rainforests...

All the money (billions) being spent forcing an anti green house gas agenda seems foolish considering there is no way to control what goes on beyond our borders etc...

A major stoppage of S.A. deforestation would have an immediate, observable effect on global weather...
I know it's highly unrealistic and an economic conundrum...but it is something that man is capable of doing that would have an instantaneous effect that should interest continued investment...

A study done by Sceintist's can't be true as they all tell lies as per your previous comments. You've placed yourself outside the realm of using Scientific Data as they all lie as you have stated!
