That's all well and good, but at what cost, and what are we defining as pollution?
If we clean up to be "carbon neutral" at a cost of 1.5x the cost of building stuff anywhere else and other countries dont, we have put ourselves at a significant competitive disadvantage when competing with the rest of the world.
That was the issue with the Paris Agreement, we were to set to work towards some fairly aggressive goals while much of the world set much more modest goals and we were to pay them billions to achieve their modest goals.

If I am in a sinking boat and I am bailing to toss the water out as it comes in - and I look over at the other guy and he is eating his lunch. He is a lazy guy and not really trying hard - so I say to myself, the **** with it. If he isn't going to work, I'm not either. And I start eating my lunch.

You may be on to something... here's 15 glaciers that grew in 2015/2016... that's more than I thought...

(Kindly ignore the 121 that shrank) ;)

From here... interesting reading.

I'm fairly sure you're misunderstanding the gist of my argument...I have never contested the climate changing or the thawing...the point is the "change" in not necessarily universal...What I question is how can "some" glaciers be growing while others are melting?...if the zealots were right the eastern seaboard should be under water by now...

...Natures way is a one of resilience...

Deserts have not always been deserts...when ice masses recede so do deserts (they becomes fertile)

I've never said we should not be spending money to clean up all forms of pollution and improve emissions etc...perfect filtering technology etc...I just think there should be more research done to show that there is natural activity that is cyclical in nature that contributes to climate changes and not hide the data...anything that does not mesh with the current AGW agenda is suppressed and kept out of sight. IMO Deforestation of rain forests is a major issue...

I understand it's a big stretch to compare physical laws to climate and to a lessor degree weather but even in nature it seems for every action there is a reaction...

BTW, FWIW... The recent freak cold air mass that set all kinds of records...had nothing to do with climate change...it was called a natural phenomenon...US cold snap was a freak of nature, quick analysis finds

What is said is global warming increases moisture in the air and that leads to more snowfall in some areas. The snowfall is increasing the size of 15 glaciers you said, but the global warming is decreasing the size of 121 glaciers was it - Meanwhile, the status quo is a consistent decrease in glaciers.

Sorry to inform you...it's not BS...it a cold hard fact (no pun intended)...
...Now the 90% figure may no longer be spot on...but there are a good number of glaciers all over the world that ARE GROWING...!

And before you go shooting another messenger because you don't like the message hear this from a USGA.GOV site:

FS-001-03--Hubbard Glacier, Alaska: Growing and Advancing in Spite of Global Climate Change and the 1986 and 2002 Russell Lake Outburst Floods

I knew you were going to bring up Hubbard. However, that is a poor choice for you view. The Huibbard is known as a renigade, e.g. It grows when others shrinks and then shrinks when others grow. Known phenomna. Picking that makes the opposite point you are aiming at.

Back to the point. Where is your cite for 90% of them growing. Respectable cite please.

/ Another closed thread because of politics @Egon #226
Never heard of Hubbard. What is the reason for it being a renigade?

So you are admitting he 90% figure is wrong?

You are right, that cold snap should not even be mentioned in these threads...just as heat waves shouldn't. they are not climate, they are weather and end up being averaged with other records spanning years - 30 yeas is the usual amount mentioned to have a meaningful "trend"
