Can the wireless home phone be connected to a FAX printer and send a FAX?
Can the wireless home phone be connected to a FAX printer and send a FAX?
I ordered my Mother the Wireless Home Phone from AT&T. The order went fairly well. They had to do a credit application for a new wireless account even though my Mother has had her landline there for over 50 years but otherwise the ordering process was not bad. Did a two year contract and got the device for free. It came in in a couple of days and that is when the fun began. I called to get the device activated and the landline number moved to it. After an hour and a half of being bounced from one dept to another and sitting on hold forever I could take no more and hung up. Needed to let my blood pressure go back down below stroke level.
I debated on packing the thing up and sending it back but decided to try one more time tonight. This time everything went fairly smooth and it probably took 20 minutes or so to get the device activated and the number switched. I guess it comes down to the luck of the draw. I got a good representative tonight and he took care of business and my blood pressure got to stay in the safe zone.
Time will tell how good the service is but so far it is clear and works great. Cool thing is that this will save my Mother $650 per year.
Remember when phone company charged extra for a touch tone line..

There are much better ways to "send a FAX" over the internet than over a phone line. Of course if you have access to the internet, then why not just send the document as and email attachment. But if you need the security of a FAX, you can subscribe to one of the many internet based fax services. Usually about $10 per month.
