And nobody picking up trash. Everyone visiting a National Park should;

Not throw trash on ground.

Take a bag of trash home, when you leave.

And that should be ALL THE TIME; not just during the government shut down. I've never understood why people throw their trash out. With all the grocery stores using plastic bags now, we have no shortage of "litter bags" to carry in the cars.

Bird- I was under the impression that each vaccination worked for a specific virus strain and would last forever once vaccinated, but the flu viruses mutate so quickly that it seems there is usually a new strain for which a new vaccine must be made.

That's my understanding, too, for the flu. But the pneumonia shot . . . well, some doctors say one is good for a lifetime and others say you need at least 2 shots 5 years apart. And more recently, they've decided there's another strain of pneumonia, so we now have a second kind of pneumonia shot.

Prevnar 13 is one and done, the other depends on your age and immune system. Lynn had no spleen so she needed one every five years. If you get one before 65 and have a normal system, they recommend getting one at 65.

I live on a dead end public road. Just past my property, it turns into a private road. The folks that live down on the private part throw trash on the public part.... really gets me doing a slow burn, as I clean up the road once a year, down to the paved road. On the other hand I usually get at least $20 a year in beer bottles. I guess if you're drinking and driving, you don't want a bunch of empties in the back!!

Got up around 60 today, very nice!
Got my old tractor running, turned out to be a combo of cold, weak battery and flooding. Cleaned the plugs and they were firing fine, fuel pump was working, so put it together and it fired up with the charger and booster pack on it. I knew it was weak because it would fire when I let off the key, so I added the booster pack to the mix and it started right up.
Worked on the driveway a bit basically just to charge it and run it some.

I watched "Eight Below" (Eight Below - Wikipedia) a few hours ago. Being a dog lover, it's a real tearjerker for me.
It is based upon true events and the Japanese movie based upon those true events is on YouTube (with subtitles). I've watched some of the Japanese movie...definitely worth watching! It's more true to life (and less clichéd) than "Eight Below"
