And that should be ALL THE TIME; not just during the government shut down. I've never understood why people throw their trash out. With all the grocery stores using plastic bags now, we have no shortage of "litter bags" to carry in the cars.

If the National Park System hadn't made all the glorified improvements to attract so many people, they wouldn't have to deal with picking up their mess all the time. Like so many things done by the gummint, the mortgage associated with maintaining facilities never is considered when the money's being appropriated for the development and construction. Sorry, that's just a pet peeve of mine.

As far as plastic grocery bags (another pet peeve), they became illegal statewide in California on January first. You can buy a paper grocery bag when you check out, but it'll cost you a dime. I always asked for paper bags when shopping before so I could put my trash in them in the kitchen. I'm not using any fewer plastic bags because I never used them to begin with, and now it's costing me a dime a week to get a bag I used to get for free. And yes, I use the canvas bags to haul my groceries, otherwise I'd be buying two or three paper bags a week. Hmmmm, no wonder I'm putting on a little weight.:laughing:

Chicken broth is a go to in my fridge. Saw it this AM, back behind the Kale I plan on doing today. LOL.

My parents were very fond of bacon grease for cooking. Even spreading it on fresh rye, with a nice dose of salt. I tried that with my wife once and she thought I was crazy. I miss my moms cooking horribly.

Yum! Bread fried in bacon grease. Can't beat it.

We were staying in a BLM campground. We were kicked out even though we had payed for another day. Could apply for a refund by mail.

Yet another reason to return the State's property back to the States. Fed government is just plain incompetent.

I mean really. Kicked out? It's our fricken property. Kick me out....right. How about Federal ranger Rick takes a hike and gets off the citizens property.

I did my annual medical for my drivers' license last October and I am still good to go. I WILL be driving my 'little truck' this summer.

Good evening all. 60F for the start, overcast and windy. High temp of 74F, windy and gusty all day, few drops of rain, more to south and east. Choir performance today, followed by putter in garage. One of the projects I got to use my new oscillator tool, now I am wandering about wanting to "play" with it more Also made to driving range, now that was ugly .

I hear you about winds today. I wanted to get busy with some tree trimming but, just too windy.

Friends invited me to play golf this afternoon and ...... I just laughed. they called me tonight and reported that the golf was ...ugly.
