How To Buy A New Chevrolet Truck?

I thought that all 2500 HD gassers came with the 4.10 rear end. My 07 Classic WT is configured that way.

Trucks are like tractors. Good used ones go for a mint. Bad used ones go for a small mint. My son just purchased a 4 door crew Chevy Silverado 4x4 with 60K miles in cherry condition. He paid a premium but was still 50% the cost of a new one.

My SIL purchased his Toyota van on-line last year, so I figured I would try that,,,

I want a Chevy 2500HD, 4WD,,, and I am pretty open to features.

Has anyone tried to search for a Chevy (or GMC, the sites are identical)?

The website is USELESS!!

I even tried to use it through "chat", every response was "we can not do that"

The search is limited to about two dealers from your zipcode.
That alone crucified the search,,,

I search for a 2500HD, 6.0 engine, no other requirements, I get 4 results, from 3 dealers.

If I go to GMC, I find they only have crew cab trucks in Virginia,,,
I have to select a zipcode near West Virginia for "double cab" to even show up as a choice,,,

WOW,, I feel like I was in 1991,,,

Any recommendations on how to find a Chevy truck??

Even the pictures are computer generated,,, NO photos at all.
The computer generated images make chrome look like gray paint,,,

If you can live with a GMC google Laura Buick GMC near St Louis Mo, nobody in the continental U.S is able to beat their prices on 3/4 ton gas trucks, they will have the pictures that you are looking for and you can make the deal over the phone and fly in they will pick you up at the airport and you drive it home. If you can live without all the bells and whistles you can usually get a well equipped truck about 6k cheaper than the next model up, they used to be called work trucks but the GM version of that is far nicer than the old WT package.

You cannot buy a vehicle from any corporate website.
Thanks to lobbyists, there is a law in the US that prohibits car makers from selling direct to the public.
Only a franchised dealer can sell new cars.
If you want to buy online, you can but it has to be from a dealers website.

It is this law that interfered with Tesla's first business model. He was forced to close his stores and sell franchise agreements to dealers in order to sell his cars.

My wife bought her last car from them. She loves the car, but the buying experience left much to be desired. I'd think twice about buying from them again.
On the plus side, they do have a very good inventory, both new and used.

rather than a discount, Berglund wants $9K ABOVE MSRP,,, that is crazy.

Laura GMC Buick- Worth the trip/flight. Huge inventory and high volume. Purchased new 2017 GMC for price of used 2015/2016. Have 3 full time drivers just to pickup buyers at the airport

Bullhockey.. Any GM dealer can pull up the build sheet on a newer vehicle given the VIN. I look at them all the time. Whatever dealer you're dealing with up there is either deceiving you or an idiot.

From what I understand is that States have their own laws on this. Tesla has been booted from several states, since they refuse to franchise to dealers.

Cars.com is better for initial search. I used Morgantown and within 50 miles there were 111 Silverado 2500. Picked Harry Green and went to their website, checked all 10 they have in stock and they all have 4.10 rears. It’s in the window sticker under Mechanical.

At a local dealership it says “Rear axle, 4.10 ratio (Requires (L96) Vortec 6.0L V8 SFI engine.)” But all the 2500HD models have that motor.

Bought cars and trucks every year at work. Some specialize in Commercial, some do not We drove 25 miles to one that did.
